Andy Matson

Andy Matson has over 35 years experience and knowledge of working within the health and fitness industry. Andy has a BSc Hons degree in sport science as well as qualifications in sports massage, running and triathlon coaching, personal training and open water swimming coaching. Andy has a passion to support and motivate people of all walks of life to become more fit and active and to enhance the performance of athletes to achieve their personal performance goals. Andy also runs his own multi-sport race team and regularly competes himself in running and triathlon events, he also has a passion for the sport of CrossFit. In his spare time Andy is an avid beekeeper.

Annabel Talbot

Job Titles:

Annabel Talbot trained with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor to teach mindfulness to adults, and has also trained to deliver Mindfulness to children. She says ‘Learning and practising Mindfulness has made a big difference to me, and helps me both to appreciate more all the positive things around me and to manage the challenges that we all face in our lives sometimes. I really enjoy teaching it at Woodfield and seeing the impact it can have for members of the group.' Annabel has a gentle, focused, calm pace in her weekly individual sitting groups. She often uses a variety of breathing techniques whilst finding appropriate words and expressions to "stay in the moment", calm anxieties and focus the mind towards positivity and creativity.

David Shepherd

David is an experienced sports therapist and has worked at Woodfield Physiotherapy since he graduated in sports therapy in 2015. He gained a Master degree with distinction in Physical Therapy in 2020 and is now completing his MSc in Physiotherapy to become a Chartered Physiotherapist. David has vast experience in general musculo-skeletal practice as well as the academic field and has lectured in electrotherapy in both his universities. Having worked in the equestrian and racket sports industry he is team therapist for the Eastern region Target Shooting team.

Dido Gyles

Dido qualified with an MSc Physiotherapy from the University of Essex in 2012 following completion of a BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences. Dido has gained experience across a range of specialities within the NHS including paediatrics, orthopaedics and rheumatology. Dido went on to specialise in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy within the NHS and in Private Practice. She enjoys treating a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions such as shoulder injuries, low back pain, post op joint replacement and helping people to manage their long-term conditions such as osteoarthritis. She is trained in Acupuncture and manual therapy techniques and she particularly enjoys helping patients to gain muscle strength and improved movement through individualised rehabilitation programmes. The thing that she loves most about her job is helping a patient to return to their favourite sports or activities and to be able to reach their goals. Dido has a keen interest in yoga and its therapeutic benefits for both the mind and body. She has completed training in Therapeutic Yoga and loves to integrate it into rehabilitation programmes for patients who have an interest in yoga or want to give it a go.

Georgia Darnell

Georgia qualified from Sheffield Hallam University in 2007, she has worked in a variety of musculoskeletal settings both in the NHS and private practice. She has spent the last 12 years working at Cambridge University Hospitals in musculoskeletal outpatients, aquatic therapy and trauma and orthopaedics. Alongside this she has been part of the Woodfield team, combining both sectors has given her a wealth of knowledge and expertise. She has also spent time working for a local rugby teamdealing with acute injuries and facilitating a quick and safe return to play. This range of settings means that Georgia has a wealth of clinical experience in treating an array of different conditions including acute sports injury, joint replacements, occupational injuries, more persistent problems and conditions requiring longer term rehabilitation. Georgia's special interest is in trauma orthopaedics, in particular working with clients following complex lower limb fractures and reconstruction. Georgia is excited to be working with the team to run the Clinical Pilates service here at Woodfield. She is APPI (Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute) trained in Matwork level 1 and 2, and will be leading physiotherapy-led Pilates classes as well as using Pilates in her rehabilitation of individual clients. Georgia has no spare time as she is a busy mum to two young children.

Gina Houghton

Gina graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2006 with first class honours and worked in NHS musculoskeletal clinics for 9 years afterwards, treating spinal, peripheral joint and soft tissue problems, as well as sport injuries and post Orthopaedic surgery. After completing her acupuncture training, Gina developed an interest in persistent pain and completed a Masters degree in Pain Management at Cardiff University in 2017, with a research project on the management of Fibromyalgia. Since then Gina has worked as a Specialist Physiotherapist in both Fatigue and Pain NHS services, treating people with persistent low back pain and / or leg pain; Fibromyalgia; Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD); Hypermobile Type Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (h-EDS); Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (M.E / CFS). Gina's approach centres around the individual person and the hopes and goals they have for their treatment, using evidence based neuroscience approaches to empower people to be able to do the things that matter to them and live the life they want.

Hannah Barbour

Hannah qualified in 2002 from St George's Hospital Medical School and since then has worked in a variety of hospital, private and sports settings gathering a wealth of knowledge, clinical skills and experience, which she brings to all her patients at Woodfield. She particularly enjoys the problem-solving aspects of rehabilitation, working closely with patients to achieve their own objectives whether they are returning to sport, a hobby, a demanding job role or just balancing the challenges of everyday life. Outside Woodfield, Hannah is a busy mum of two children and is a director at Box End Park.

Jan Campbell

Jan, Gerry and Nicola, our wonderful reception team are on hand to help with any enquiry you may have, a smile to greet you and sometimes even a cup of tea! Our reception team offer valuable customer care expertise to all visitors to Woodfield and work tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the clinic providing a tremendous support to all our therapists. Jan, our Practice Manager, has worked at the practice for many years and has a great understanding of patient care and customer service. She brings exceptional organisation skills to the team and is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to all things Woodfield.

Matt Breeds

Matt graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2010 with a BSc Physiotherapy degree. Since then he has worked as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in both the NHS and private settings assessing and treating patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. This includes treating and rehabilitating patients following orthopaedic procedures. Alongside working at Woodfield Physiotherapy Centre he works for Cambridgeshire Community Services as a First Contact Practitioner in GP surgeries. He assesses, diagnoses and investigates a variety of musculoskeletal conditions and gives expert advice to patients on how to best manage their condition, referring onto specialist services as necessary. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his young family and has a keen interest in sport. Through the varied experience that Matt has gained he is able to accurately diagnose patient's problems and provide treatment in order to restore them back to full function. "I like to offer a holistic treatment approach ensuring that the patients are involved in the treatment process and understand what they can do to improve their symptoms alongside a wide range of treatment that I can offer." Matt works at the practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays so don't hesitate to book an appointment and start your road to recovery.

Natalie Catley

Natalie has seven years teaching Pilates. She has a Level 3 Diploma is Mat Pilates, Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology and done further training in Pilates for Osteoporosis, Pelvic Floor Health and Pre/Post Natal Pilates. She loves working with all levels of client from lower mobility to advanced and loves the fulfilment of watching her clients achieve their potential and enjoy themselves.

Pam Marmelstein

Pam Marmelstein is highly qualified Paediatric Neuro Physiotherapist. As a Bobath-trained therapist with over twenty years of experience working with Neuromuscular and Orthopaedic disorders, Pam brings to Woodfield a wealth of expertise in this specialist area. Pam recently worked in one of the London teaching Hospitals, after working for many years at the Bedford Child Development Centre and now works within private practice. Whilst working in London, Pam set up a Neuromuscular Paediatric Outreach Service, which specialised in hip and spine surveillance for children with cerebral palsy or similar conditions, and orthopaedic follow-up for those with complex needs. She continues to be active in the development of a new standardised assessment of hips and spine in children with cerebral palsy. Pam is highly skilled in this specialist field, and is happy to see children with a wide range of conditions such as cerebral palsy, and other neuromuscular disorders, developmental disorders and various paediatric orthopaedic disorders.

Rika Kamper

Rika Kamper is a Functional Medicine Practitioner and Nutritional Therapist. She holds a diploma from the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London (2011), a first class BSc Honours degree in Nutritional Therapy (2014) from Middlesex University and obtained practitioner status from the institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) in the USA in 2017. She is a full member of the British Association for Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT). She is also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). She regularly attends courses to stay abreast of the latest research in the fascinating field of human nutrition. "My approach is to look at both diet and lifestyle to get to the root cause of my clients' health conditions. I believe that even small changes can huge beneficial effects".

Sue Walker

Sue has been in practice for 30 years and for the last 12 years has been in part-time private practice at Woodfield Physiotherapy. Throughout her career she has worked closely with GP's and physiotherapists. Sue's vast experience of all essential nail and foot care means her treatments are effective and as painfree as possible. Sue likes to improve the mobility, independence and quality of life for her patients by providing preventative care, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of problems affecting the feet such as bunions, in-growing toenails, wound management and the rheumatoid foot. Sue also undertakes nail surgery using local anaesthetic.
