Christine joined the firm in 1989, shortly after her graduation from Northwood University, located in Midland, Michigan, where she graduated with High Honors, majored in accounting, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
During her tenure at Bengtson & Smith, Christine has worked with our broad base of clients to provide all facets of business accounting, tax preparation, and business/individual planning services. She specializes in the accounting and tax planning needs of closely-held and family owned businesses. Her clients include automotive dealerships, manufacturing companies, retail establishments, legal and medical services.
Christine possesses a strong ability to address the client's personal needs through her understanding of their individual requirements thereby presenting financial solutions directed to each specific challenge. She prides herself on the level of personal service that she provides and her proactive approach to the ever-changing business climate.
Christine resides in Farmington with her husband and two children and serves as a board member of the Noah Wallace Fund Committee and treasurer of the Farmington Chamber of Commerce. She is also active in the Non-Profit Organization Dining for Women, which empowers women and girls living in extreme poverty in developing countries. Christine is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Judy graduated from Central Connecticut State University, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 1984.
Her professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. She serves on the Continuing Professional Education Committee and the Compilation and Review Committee in the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Judy provides commercial, small non-profit and individual clients with tax planning and compliance services as well as business consulting. She is the quality control principal of our accounting firm.
Judy has significant experience in manufacturing, real estate, retail stores, contractors, medical practices and service business industries.
Ray received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from St. Thomas Aquinas College in May 1981. He received his CPA certificate in 1986 and became principal of the firm in 1992. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Ray provides tax and accounting services for businesses of all sizes, including preparation of business and personal financial statements. He also offers business advisory services, tax planning for businesses and individuals, and tax compliance and research. He provides accounting and tax services for many closely-held and family owned businesses in various construction, retail and service industries. In addition to business and trust tax returns, he prepares personal tax returns. Ray is in charge of all technology issues for our accounting firm. When not in the office, Ray enjoys playing softball and spending time with his wife and three children.
