Dr. Andrew J. Dunbar attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where, in 1987, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Oklahoma-College of Dentistry in 1991, and his General Practice Residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. Dr. Dunbar practiced general dentistry and orthodontics in the U.S. Navy and private practice before he became an orthodontist. He served in San Diego, California; Okinawa, Japan; and in Bethesda, Maryland before specializing in orthodontics. Dr. Dunbar earned his Master of Science (MS) in Oral Biology and his Certificate in Orthodontics University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2002. Dr. Dunbar is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Metropolitan Denver Dental Society. Dr. Dunbar and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Castle Pines, and they have two daughters, Sierra and Jane. They are active members of Southeast Christian Church. In addition, Dr. Dunbar actively supports the community and schools by donating services to fundraising events and giving presentations to middle and high schools on the pursuit of dental and orthodontic careers. Dr. Dunbar employs a high school intern each summer in order for them to experience the business of orthodontics. Dr. Dunbar's hobbies include golf, skiing, family travel, and especially watching the Colorado Avalanche rock the NHL!
