Emily Coren

Emily Coren is a science communicator. With a background in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a graduate degree in Science Illustration, she enjoys translating communications research into engaging public facing content. She's a member of National Association of Science Writers, the Society of Environmental Journalists, the International Social Marketing Association, and the Social Marketing Association of North America. She's worked as an illustrator at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, in the marketing department of Walden Media creating educational content to tie into films, and was the Director of New Media for the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. She's created comics, screenwriting, kid's books and textile design. Her goal as a science communicator is to improve the cultural integration of science. Summer Marsh, born and raised in sunny Southern California, has always had a passion for film and television. In 2005, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Digital Media, with an emphasis in Production, from the University of California Santa Cruz. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her much anticipated and prepared-for career in the film industry. As a member of the International Cinematographers Guild for nearly a decade, she has been continuously-engaged as a Union Camera Assistant, working on-set for feature films and episodic television. This grounded Summer's innate interest in the business of managing the breadth of the project, with practical production experience, propelling her to discover her true passion in Producing.
