Chen Chin Lam

Chen Chin Lam has as background in business and engineering. He is currently the General Manager of the Engineering Business Cluster at EM Engineering since 2017 and his responsibilities extend to overseeing the procurement and quality assurance aspects within EM Services. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated strong leadership and strategic management skills, driving the success of the engineering business cluster. He earned a Master and Bachelor's degree in Business and Engineering respectively.

Edward Cho

Job Titles:
  • Head of Engineering Management Services
Edward currently serves as the General Manager of the Engineering Management Services at EM Engineering. Beyond his contributions to EM Engineering, Edward has demonstrated his leadership skills throughout his career. His professional journey encompasses diverse sectors, including roles at Sodexo Kim Yew, Kim Yew Electrical & Sanitary, Singtel, Nanyang Technological University, Energy Market Authority, Cofely South East Asia, and Singapore Power. Edward's commitment to continuous learning is evident through his various certifications and qualifications. His engineering background, coupled with managerial experience, positions him as a versatile professional in the engineering and management landscape. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, complemented by certifications such as a Specialist Diploma in Construction Productivity and a Certification Course for Green Mark Managers from the Building and Construction Authority.

Jimmy Chou

Jimmy leads diverse Business Units at EM Engineering, overseeing areas like Lifts, ACMV, Electrical, Fire Protection, Playground, and Fitness Corners. With over 30 years of experience leading cross-functional teams in Multi-National Companies across Southeast Asia, he enjoys building Teams and Businesses. During his 13-year tenure with Avery Dennison, he led the ASEAN Team through multi-year growth achieving a CAGR of 26%, catering to industries in the FMCG, Health & Beauty Aid, Petrol Chemical, Electronics and Packaging. In the M&E sector, his 14-year journey with Carrier, UGL, and EM Services showcased technical expertise, from ACMV system design to delivering turn-key projects with Green-Mark Certified Performance Guaranteed Contracts. Aside from his passion in growing businesses and teams, Jimmy's love for sports persists since his schooling days. A former representative in Inter-Varsity Dragon Boat Races and Inter-School International Chess Competitions, he now enjoys jogging, fishing, and reading.

Lai Weng Chuen - Managing Director

Dr Lai, Managing Director of EM Engineering, joined EM Services as Senior General Manager in 2016. His transformative leadership has propelled the engineering business to more than twice its size today. With a career spanning over 35 years, Dr Lai's journey encompasses the entire value chain, from research to contracting. He pioneered new product development services at PSB Corporation helping SMEs to bring their product from laboratory to market, led multinational R&D teams at Thermo Fisher Scientific, and initiated Opto Precision, a venture into optical thin-film coating. Dr Lai's expertise extends to technology commercialisation during his tenure at SIMTech, ASTAR. Over the last 12 years, he has played a pivotal role in advancing M&E products and services, contributing innovation and new technologies to the building services sector. Dr Lai's flagship projects include the M&E design review and maintenance setup for the Singapore SportsHub, chiller plants upgrade of commercial complexes and government buildings to achieve Greenmark Platinum for the Health Science Authority building, the replacement/installation of over 3,000 lifts in Town Councils and HDB Built-TO-Order blocks. His knowledge spans various domains of supply chain and across disciplines, including Vertical Transportation, IoT, Video Analytics, Robotics, Energy Management Systems, Optical Thin-film Coating, and Electrochemistry. Dr Lai holds a PhD (Control) from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UK), a Master of Engineering (Electrical) from the National University of Singapore, and an MBA from the Open University (UK). His inspiring leadership and diverse expertise continue to drive success at EM Engineering.

Lee Meng Boon

Lee Meng Boon, currently serving as the General Manager of the Operations Command Centre at EM Engineering, brings a wealth of experience in operations management, underpinning his role in driving operational excellence. His journey within EM Engineering includes a previous stint as Deputy General Manager, highlighting his commitment to the company's growth. Before joining EM Engineering, Meng Boon served as the Director of Operations and Strategic Procurement at C&W Services, contributing significantly to operational efficiency and strategic procurement. Beginning as the Head of Branch at the Industrial Engineering / Human Performance Laboratory in MINDEF in 1984, Meng Boon has held pivotal roles in various organisations, including China Healthcare, the National Library Board, the Institute of Mental Health, Global Airfreight International, and ST Logistics. An alumnus of the National University of Singapore, Meng Boon earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical in 1984, followed by a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering in 1989. Beyond his professional commitments, he maintains an active lifestyle, participating weekly in social soccer.
