Angela has been in insurance for over 17 years, and in her current role she lodges claims on behalf of our clients so that they don't have to worry about them. She loves eliminating the need to deal with plenty of other people - and the stress this can alleviate - because being able to build a genuine rapport and connection makes everything worthwhile.
Anna has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years and has experience in every stage of the insurance process. She has worked in a variety of roles, from brokering and claims handling to Commercial & Domestic Support, and has a wealth of industry knowledge. Anna enjoys getting to know her clients, and giving them confidence that their rural or commercial cover is in safe hands.
With a diverse background spanning telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and the insurance sector over the past five years, Barbara brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Her focus within the insurance sector has been primarily on claims, where her goal is always to secure positive outcomes for our clients efficiently. Barbara thrives on taking care of all the legwork so that our clients can stay fully engaged in their business endeavours.
Working in an insurance broker support role for 9 years before joining GSI, Celia brings vast experience working with a wide range of commercial and domestic portfolios. With a talent for understanding our client's situations and requirements, Celia supports our brokers to ensure efficient and accurate delivery of coverage.

As Adviser Support in our Christchurch office, Daniel makes a point of focusing on efficiency and accuracy. He knows that providing the correct insurance cover and information to our clients alleviates their worries. With 8 years in underwriter and broker roles (including experience at Lumley/NZI), his practical knowledge across domestic and SMEs is invaluable to our GSI team. A keen soccer and badminton player (playing for the Canterbury A badminton squad), Daniel understands the power of a successful team.
In Christchurch, Daniel Loh has returned to insurance in a broker support role after moving back from Malaysia at the start of 2021. Previously working with Christchurch Director Sean Lysaght for 3 years at another insurance company, Daniel took the opportunity to work with him again.
"When Sean called me and asked if I wanted to come back I said yes, simple as that. I feel he's the best person I've worked for, so the opportunity was hard to turn down."
Daniel is settling into Canterbury life and is already representing the region being selected for the Canterbury A Badminton squad.

Commercial broker Decklyn has worked across a range of property and professional risk portfolios. His specialist expertise includes professional indemnity and commercial property insurance, with a focus on providing tailored solutions for each client's specific needs. Decklyn's in-depth approach ensures his clients have the right cover in place, while also exploring opportunities to reduce their annual costs. "I treat my client's businesses as I would treat my own business: making sure I'm confident in the coverage first, and then comfortable with the pricing. I like coming up with tailored solutions and offering a level of advice that clients may not get from a more transactional approach."
Geraldine has 20 years of insurance industry experience in New Zealand and Samoa, primarily in underwriting and claims. Throughout her career, Geraldine has enjoyed providing solutions to a diverse range of local and international clients. She is a lifelong learner who enjoys putting her qualifications to use to support GSI's clients.
With over 25 years' experience in insurance, Glenn continues to deliver cover solutions where others aren't able to. His goal to find better outcomes has pushed him to become an innovator in our industry, which now positions him as one of New Zealand's most experienced professional indemnity and liability insurance partners.
Jerren Naidoo has also proven to be an excellent addition to GSI. Along with providing great support in the Auckland office, he is also assisting our North Canterbury office. Coming to the team with over 5 years in the industry, Jerren is keen to progress further.
"I wanted to surround myself with people who have more knowledge and tenure in the industry. The last company I was with had a younger base of brokers and I was the longest running support in the role. I wanted the opportunity to grow and learn from a team with more experience than me. I'm looking forward to developing my skill set."
Kylie has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years. Before becoming a broker, Kylie worked as a claims specialist, giving her an in-depth understanding of the full insurance life cycle. Kylie enjoys the people-focused side of insurance and builds strong relationships with her clients.

Simply put, Leanne's role is to ensure a fast and stress-free claims experience. Having begun her career in customer service, she's developed her skills as a claims handling expert and has continued to do so since joining our team in 2013. Leanne enjoys building relationships with our clients to make their lives a touch easier, and negotiating with insurers to get them the very best outcome.
With many years in the insurance industry, Lily, a born and bred Aucklander, brings a wealth of experience to her role at GSI. Her background includes operations and broker support for corporate clients, along with commercial portfolio management experience.
At GSI, Lily leverages her knowledge to provide effective support to brokers and clients, ensuring they receive a tailored approach.
Lynley's role is to provide the best information and cover for our domestic clients. This includes home, contents and motor insurance, but Lynley also handles all of our new domestic policies and renewals. She also brings over 30 years' experience to our team, and is incredibly proud of being efficient, thorough and considerate whenever she works with our clients.
Having worked in our industry since 2001, Matt was successful in various roles both here and overseas before joining GSI in 2018. In one of these roles, he was tasked with underwriting complex marine insurance policies; an experience that's provided a unique insight into the finer details of how they work, and how to make them work in favour of his clients.
Max has worked in various roles in the insurance industry, beginning as a domestic broker before specialising in commercial insurance. Max focuses on providing clear and practical insurance advice, without the jargon. His accounting and business background has given him a strong understanding of the commercial factors that go into running a successful operation, and the ability to relate to clients from a range of industries.
With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Sally has the knowledge and expertise to support GSI clients at every stage of the process. She's committed to providing efficient, reliable service, which is invaluable in her broker support role.
Sally enjoys the supportive team environment of the GSI Christchurch office, and her friendly and personable approach means clients quickly feel at ease.
With over 30 years' experience between New Zealand and London, Sean loves working as a strong advocate for clients and staff. He's guided them through many challenges and enjoys being able to stand on their side during particularly trying times. Such was the case in the aftermath of the Canterbury earthquakes.
Having joined the insurance industry in 2009, Steve brings a wealth of experience to GSI. His background includes consultancy, brokerage across a wide range of industries, and various management roles. His experience is invaluable to the GSI team, bringing a deep commitment to fostering strong client relationships.
Sue has a strong end-to-end knowledge of the insurance process, thanks to 20 years of industry experience in general insurance, risk and compliance, and claims. She finds the insurance industry really interesting and believes there's always something new to learn!

With many years of Insurance experience (including domestic and commercial), as well as time as an IT Analyst on a Brokering Processing system, bringing attention to detail to her commercial broker support role is Tash's priority. Having developed a clearly spoken phone manner and well-formatted written communication, clients are confident to deal with Tash directly. A point that is important to her.
Tash was thrown into lockdown after only a week of training but handled this without issue and is excelling in her role. With previous experience in commercial and domestic roles with a high volume broker firm in Auckland's CBD, a move to a company with more personal connections was important.
"In a fast-paced corporate environment, I felt I didn't always have the time I would have liked to focus on our clients. The fact GSI puts their focus on client relationships and gives staff the space to work alongside them was one of the reasons for the change. Being 10 minutes from our office in West Auckland was also a positive as I want to be involved in my own community and support local businesses."

Trish supports our clients and the wider Commercial team with everything from new policies to claims, renewals and ongoing assistance. She's passionate about finding the most effective solutions for them, and enjoys being able to get to know the people she works with. Prior to joining GSI, Trish worked in Weathertight Claims at Auckland City Council for nine years.
