The brain is a very complex organ and different parts of it control different elements of the way we operate, for example, speech, memory and sight. The symptoms of brain injury are therefore determined by which parts of the brain have been damaged. Families take most of the strain. The burden of care can place the family unit under severe pressure. Headway Ennisrone promotes wider understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provides information, support and social activities for people with brain injury, their families and carers. We also campaign at national and local level for improved resources and facilities for brain injury survivors and their carers. We organise a number of social activities through out the year alongside our services such as barbeques, social evenings and seasonal events... We also provide training on a variety of subjects such as Understanding Brain Injury and Coping with Challenging Behaviour.
