Cooper J. Macco

Cooper J. Macco graduated from St. John's University School of Law in 2012 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in February 2013. He is also admitted to practice in the Eastern and Southern District of New York. While in law school, Mr. Macco focused his studies on debt collection, insolvency, restructuring, and bankruptcy. Mr. Macco was the Vice President of the Bankruptcy Law Society and an Articles Editor of the Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development. Mr. Macco received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Real Property, Creditor's Rights, and Professional Responsibility, as well as a Dean's Award for Excellence in Personal Federal Income Taxation. Mr. Macco made the Dean's List for five semesters and graduated cum laude. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Macco interned for a Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York and the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. Prior to joining Macco Law Group LLP, Mr. Macco worked for an Eastern and Southern District Chapter 7 Panel Trustee. During that time, Mr. Macco handled the recovery of assets for the benefit of the Debtor's estate, both in adversary proceedings and through informal negotiations. Mr. Macco has been involved in multiple bankruptcy mediation sessions, recovering a benefit for the estate without incurring legal fees associated with the trial. Mr. Macco has also handled corporate restructuring and sales under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. In addition to Bankruptcy, Mr. Macco has also handled various real estate proceedings, both on Long Island and in the City of New York. Mr. Macco is a Part 36 Eligible Receiver for the Counties of Suffolk and Nassau. Cooper Macco has specialized in bankruptcy law ever since the beginning of his studies. He has earned numerous academic achievements and graduated cum laude. Before starting his career as an attorney, he has worked for a Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, the United States' Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, and an Eastern and Southern District Chapter 7 Panel Trustee. He has also handled several bankruptcy mediation sessions, as well as corporate restructuring cases under Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

MICHAEL J. MACCO

MICHAEL J. MACCO is a partner in the law firm of Macco Law Group, LLP, where he practices exclusively in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency law. In addition to representing individuals and corporations seeking bankruptcy relief, Mr. Macco has also represented financial institutions, banks, car refinance companies, various creditors as well as individual and corporate debtors and Trustees. He graduated with a B.A. degree from St. John's University and a J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School. Mr. Macco is the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the Eastern District of New York for approximately 26 years as well as the Chapter 12 Trustee for the Eastern District of New York. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, where he formerly served as Chairman of the Bankruptcy Committee and the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association. Mr. Macco has lectured on bankruptcy and creditor issues before various professional organizations, including the New York County Lawyers Association, the Suffolk County and Nassau County bar associations, the Practicing Law Institute, the National Business Institute and the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees. Mr. Macco is a volunteer for the Suffolk County Pro Bono Association and the Assistance for Lawyers Program for the Suffolk County Bar Association. Michael Macco has been practicing bankruptcy and insolvency law exclusively for almost 40 years. In that period, he has represented numerous financial institutions, banks, creditors, and individual debtors. He is the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee and the Chapter 12 Trustee for the Eastern District of New York. Mr. Macco has also lectured on bankruptcy before several well-known institutions, and has engaged in a number of pro-bono activities ever since the start of his career.

Peter Corey

Mr. Corey graduated from St. John's University School of Law in June of 2001 and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in April of 2002 and admitted to the New York State Bar in September of 2002. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York. Prior to his association with Macco Law Group, LLP, Mr. Corey was an associate with Pryor & Mandelup, LLP where he concentrated on the representation of individual and corporate Debtors in bankruptcy proceedings, workout negotiations and all aspects of asset preservation while also representing a Chapter 7 trustee in various litigated bankruptcy matters. Mr. Corey is also the Former Managing Bankruptcy Attorney at Frenkel, Lambert, Weiss, Weisman & Gordon LLP where he was responsible for the representation of various national institutional lenders, as creditors, in individual and corporate bankruptcy proceedings throughout New York state. Peter Corey was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2002 and has been specializing in bankruptcy law ever since. He has worked in several individual and corporate bankruptcy proceedings even before joining Macco Law Group, LLP, having relevant experience as an associate with Pryor and Mandelup, LLP, and a Managing Bankruptcy Attorney at Frenkel, Lambert, Weiss, Weisman & Gordon, LLP.
