MARIST WATER POLO CLUB INCORPORATED

Marist Water Polo is a not-for-profit organisation focused on promoting and developing the sport of water polo... The club was founded in 1988 by a group of local families together with Sacred Heart College teacher, Chris Hayward, who remains involved with the club 30 years later. By the mid-90's Marist had established itself as one of the preeminent water polo clubs in the country with a Men's National trophy in the cabinet and competitive teams across all age groups.The senior women‘s team established in that era would go on to dominate the league for the next decade, winning six national titles from 2004-2010. Marist Senior Women's team won the National League in 2016 and Marist Senior Men's team won the National League in 2017. Marist initially trained at public pools around Auckland including Panmure, Parnell and Waitakere before making Sacred Heart College Aquatic Centre it's home in 2000.
