REDLANDS HOME IMPROVEMENT - Key Persons

Kris Sawyer

Kris Sawyer is not your average general contractor. She has an unrestricted Construction Supervisor License, a Home Improvement Contractor Registration and over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. However, she credits her background in art with her ability to bring creative ideas to the home remodeling process. The granddaughter of a cabinetmaker and daughter of a structural engineer, Kris remembers tinkering alongside her grandfather in his workshop and, later, working on projects with her father who built her childhood home in Marblehead. Kris attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where she studied sculpture, design, painting and drawing, and several years living in Henley-On-Thames, England, studying sculpture and design. Kris began her own construction firm in 1998 after many years working in construction and related fields. She has worked in both the commercial and residential side of construction. Kris also worked in the contract furniture field and then the commercial window field as a sales representative. In 1995, Kris was the Vice President for Contract Furniture Systems of Boston. Her responsibilities included support and education for architects and designers so they could specify their manufacturers' products in the project planning and design phase. Kris also worked with construction project managers to educate them in the installation of products to meet the manufacturers' warranty requirements. Combining her practical experience in the construction field with her strong sense of design, Kris creates a true collaboration with her clients and trade partners. Her creative, collaborative process and strong project management are essential to her success in bringing her clients' visions to reality.
