Schooner Bay was founded in 1993. Since then the company has grown in both size and scope. Chris and Renita Merritt purchased Schooner Bay in 2008 along with a partner, since bought out. Starting with four sedans and two minivans providing local taxi service to Rockland Maine the company has expanded to a fleet of eighteen and now offers a variety of transportation services. As the leading transportation company in the Mid-Coast Schooner Bay continues to bring new ideas and options to the area ranging from food delivery through a dedicated website to releasing a customer app available in both Google and Apple versions in the fall of 2017... Schooner Bay is able to accommodate groups large or small, provide Non-Emergency Medical Transport (scheduled through Mid-Coast Connector), and deliver hot and fresh food from area restaurants in addition to traditional taxi services.
