Andy Thompson - CEO, Founder

Andy's passion is helping people be safe before and after natural disasters and other catastrophic events. This led him to his career ambition of creating financial incentives for increasing safety & resilience. Andy has 20 years of experience as an earthquake and structural engineer, and founded and led the Catastrophe Risk & Insurance practice at the global engineering consultancy Arup. Here, he worked with corporations and governments around the world to better manage their catastrophe risk, from risk reduction to business continuity planning and insurance. This included supporting clients in numerous post-disasters situations from Japan to Chile to Haiti. He is coauthor of the book Peace of Mind in Earthquake Country, and was a recipient of Consulting-Specifying Engineer's 40-Under-40 Award. He has a master's degree in structural and earthquake engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

Axel Bichara

Clement Barthes - CTO

When Clement first met the Safehub team, he was running the largest 6-axes shaking table in the United-States at the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research (PEER) center at UC Berkeley. Clement has experience and passion not only in structural engineering and dynamics, but also in wireless sensors, embedded software development, circuit board design, and structural health monitoring solutions. He is the author of Optecal, a digital image correlation software capable of measuring extremely small deformations using conventional cameras. Clement has a Ph.D. in structural engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

Donna Smith - CMO

Donna has over 20 years of marketing experience, spending the last 10 years serving as a Marketing Director in the Cybersecurity industry. Working with company leaders, she has helped organizations to swiftly grow their regional footprint and sales revenues. Her passion for marketing has lead her to win an industry marketing competition through her strategic email campaign, as well as winning an IBM Security Excellence Award for her prior organization. Donna has also served on a regional ISSA committee to assist in planning their annual Security Conferences, moderated tech panel discussions, and spoke on panels to share her Marketing insights.

Evan Reis

Evan graduated with this Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Structural Engineering from Stanford University in 1988. The following year he began a decade of helping the University recover from the Loma Prieta Earthquake. He was the structural engineer for the award-winning seismic retrofit of several of Stanford's most historic buildings, including the Memorial Church and Stanford Art Museum. Evan has provided engineering and risk management services to some of nation's largest organizations in the education, healthcare, high technology, energy, insurance and government services sectors. He was a pioneer in developing performance based engineering and resilience design standards, and was part of the development team for FEMA's flagship risk modeling tool - HAZUS. He is the Executive Director of the US Resiliency Council, a non-profit organization that he co-founded as a way to educate building stakeholders and the public about resilience based design.

Jeff Zeichick

Jeff Zeichick brings more than 25 years of sales experience in enterprise software, networking hardware, cloud, and wireless to help move Safehub into the next phase of its growth and innovation. Jeff has built and led global sales and channel organizations for several early-to mid-stage technology companies. Most recently Jeff was driving sales for business continuity solutions for Citrix Enterprise customers and leading a high growth sales organization in the enterprise technology group at Oracle. Jeff served as Vice President of Sales for Talari Networks, a secure access service edge (SASE) platform that converges cloud, networking, and security which was acquired by Oracle in 2018. Prior to Talari, Jeff held Vice President of North American Sales at Telepo, a Unified Communications company, sold to Mitel. Previously he was Vice President of Sales and Channel in the Americas and Europe for Global IP Solutions, a worldwide market leader in media processing software (Voice and Video) with nearly 1 billion users of its technology deployed worldwide. Global IP Solutions was acquired by Google in 2010. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering with a focus on Marketing and Economics from the University of Massachusetts.

Founder and Managing Partner of Fusion Fund, is a renowned Silicon Valley investor, a serial entrepreneur, and a Stanford Engineering alumna. Lu is a World Economic Forum - Young Global Leader. She has also garnered other accolades including the Featured Honoree in VC of Forbes 30 Under 30, Silicon Valley Women of Influence, Town & Country 50 Modern Swans - Entrepreneurship Influencer, and was recently selected as the Best 25 Female early-stage Investor by Business Insider (2021). Prior to starting Fusion Fund, she was the Founder and CEO of a medical device company (acquired in 2013). Lu is a frequent speaker at tech events and conferences such as Davos World Economic Forum, Future Investment Initiative (FII), Forbes, Web Summit, SuperReturn, etc., and serves as a mentor and advisor to several tech innovation programs in Silicon Valley. Lu is the board member of the Youth Council of Future Forum and Future Science Award. Lu is also on the Jury Board of Cartier's Young Leader Award. She received her M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University.

Taka Yokoyama - COO

Taka has spent segments of his career in structural engineering, software sales, revenue operations, and consulting. He brings it all together by leading operations at Safehub. His cloud sales/consulting experience centered around Lead-to-Revenue Operations and Systems, including almost 3 years with Salesforce. His work as a civil engineer centered around critical facilities such as hospitals, high-rises, bridges, and government/defense structures. As a former chair of the Disaster Emergency Services (DES) committee, he has organized and led 5 post-disaster safety assessment trainings over the last decade. He was recognized as the ASCE Younger Civil Engineer of the Year in 2015 for the San Francisco Chapter based on his engineering work, volunteer activities, and blast/fire research. He has a master's degree in architectural engineering from Cal Poly SLO, an MBA from The Wharton School, and maintains his California PE license.
