The Solar Canopy Project is a new non-profit whose mission is to sharply cut evaporation to conserve water, with a technology that simultaneously produces copious clean energy... The Solar Canopy Project was formed to identify opportunities and barriers to locate solar power along the vast waterways in the arid West, starting with California... We aim to generate more renewable power to meet ambitious carbon-free energy goals, while lowering evaporation rates and therefore extending the water supplies where drought is often the new norm.
