SWEDISH STIRLING

Swedish Stirling was founded in 2008 by Gunnar Larsson, former CEO of Kockums AB. The ambition was to further develop the unparalleled ability of the Stirling... During its first years, the company focused on developing the Stirling engine to be used with solar energy. In 2012, the construction of a reference and testing facility was initiated in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. In May the same year, the Swedish Stirling Stirling engine demonstrated an efficiency of 32 % when converting solar energy to grid-quality electricity, claiming the unofficial world record. This number is close to twice that of competing technologies.
