Bruce Hills

Bruce Hills was named the head coach of the men's and women's cross country teams at Warren Wilson College in 2011. Hills enjoys working with his athletes and the constant learning process involved with developing the team and himself. A native of New Zealand, Hills has always liked the outdoors and gained his passion for running when he started training for Rugby in 1976. Since then, he has run numerous distance races from 5K runs to marathons highlighted by a 5th place finish in the 1989 two day Coast to Coast Multisport event held in the South Island of New Zealand. Prior to settling in Asheville, Hills traveled extensively and has a significant amount of international work experience including: leading rafting expeditions in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Africa, Turkey and Nepal; working for various Outward Bound Schools in New Zealand and the US; and working on and delivering sail boats in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Bruce continues to enjoy the outdoors and still loves to run and bike. His family includes his wife Susan and their daughter Lucie.

Dan Gold

Dan Gold is the first Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Warren Wilson College. Warren Wilson Men's Lacrosse will begin their first season in Spring 2021 competing independently against NCAA D3 and NAIA programs. Before coming to Warren Wilson, Coach Gold was the Head Coach at DIII Emerson College from 2012-2016 and an Assistant Coach at The Savannah College of Art and Design from 2016-2018. Coach Gold has also been a part of many youth and club lacrosse programs including the Golden Hares out of Savannah, GA, and the Brooklyn Lacrosse club in New York City. As a player, Gold led the Emerson Men's Lacrosse team as a 2 year captain, and attained All Conference honors his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. Coach Gold has since graduated from Emerson College and The Savannah College of Art and Design with advanced degrees in Film Production and Visual Effects. Born and raised in Randolph, New Jersey, Coach Gold graduated from Randolph High School. Gold was a three-year Varsity letter winner in Lacrosse, was part of 2 state championship runs, and earned All-league honors his senior season. In 2012, shortly after graduating from Emerson College, he was named Head Coach at his alma mater, making him the youngest Head Lacrosse coach in the country at 22 years old. Since then, he has gone on to coach 5 All-Conference players as well as be a part of 2 NAIA playoff teams. Coach Gold currently resides in Asheville, NC.
