Ali Trauttmansdorff

Ali's career in HR started with Goldman Sachs, where she worked for 14 years in both Germany and the UK in various HR roles including the Head of Graduate Recruitment for EMEA. In 2008 Alison moved to Rothschild & Co as the HR Director based in London, overseeing both the UK and International team. Her main areas of focus were the Global Advisory and Merchant Banking businesses. She launched the DE&I and Wellbeing practices for the firm. As of February 2022, she joined Alvarium Investments to be the new CHRO of Alvarium Tiedemann Capital once Alvarium merges with Tiedemann Advisors and Tiedemann Investment Group in the Autumn and goes public on the NASDAQ. The combined organisation will be a global multifamily office and asset management firm with an integral focus on Impact Investment. She joined the City HR board in 2020. She has served on the main Council and Remuneration Committee of Aston University (where she graduated with a degree in International Business and Modern Languages) and also sat on the International Advisory Board of its Business School. Ali is parent to Will and Pia, actively competes for Great Britain in Age-Group Triathlon and is a keen cross-country runner.

Amera Otaifa

Amera joined City HR Board in January 2024. Amera is the Head of HR, UK & Ireland at Swiss Re. She has more than 20 years HR experience, previously working at the Bank of Montreal, TD Securities, Credit Suisse, Gartmore Investment Management and ING Barings. Outside of work, Amera's passion is to help people. She is an active volunteer with several charities operating in the UK and beyond. Amera holds an MA in Human Resources Management, and she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.

Andrea Eccles

Andrea is a Senior Advisor to City HR, having stepped down as Chief Executive in August 2023. She has been on the Board since 2007. She previously founded a business which was acquired by a PLC, giving her main board experience. Her 12 years line HR experience was in Investment Banking. She delivers a wide range of business and people management activities to members, and feels strongly about social inclusion. Andrea is a Founder and Court Member of the Guild for Human Resources. She lives with her husband and daughter in West Sussex, where she helps run an Arts & Music Festival.

Cheryll Davidson

Cheryll Davidson joined City HR Board in September 2023. Cheryll is currently the Head of Amundi Asset Management, UK and previous to Amundi worked as a Senior Business Partner in Barclays PLC. Cheryll is passionate about inclusion and how we action further support for women returning to work after maternity leave. Cheryll moved from Scotland in 2017 and now lives in Surrey with her partner, son and dog - as a family they enjoy the outdoors.

Chloe Nash

Chloe, HR Analyst joined City HR in August 2023 and has 7 years' experience at the Financial Services Culture Board. She is responsible for providing analytic support and researching issues of interest to members. Chloe also assists with updating the City HR website, social channels, and databases. Chloe recently completed a Diploma in Makeup Artistry and is a proud animal lover with two Bengal cats.

David Barnett

David Barnett joined the City HR Board during its previous incarnation as the City Personnel Group and is our Honorary Treasurer. He has been at Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking Corporation since 1998, and is currently Head of the UK Audit Office. Prior to this David worked for Yasuda Trust & Banking as Financial Controller. Other companies David has worked for include TSB, and Deloitte. He has a wealth of banking and finance experience. His hobbies include classical music, travel, 10k runs and golf.

Ella Gosling

Ella Gosling joined the City HR Board in 2018. Between 2018 and 2022 she was Director of HR Business Partnering and Reward at Just Group Plc, a company that specialises in providing retirement income products and services to individual and corporate clients. Her role included responsibility for the HR Business Partnering team, HR Operations, MI & Analytics and Group Reward & Benefits.

Fenil Khiroya

Fenil Khiroya joined the City HR Board in March 2020 and has over 25 years' experience in the Financial Services Sector She is the Head of HR, UK for Standard Chartered Bank, who she joined in October 2018 and lead the UK HR team through their HR transformation journey. Fenil plays a key role in delivering the People agenda and leads the D&I agenda across Europe. Fenil is the senior HRPB for the Front Office business and works closely with the UK CEO. Fenil was listed on the EMpower 100 Ethnic Minority Executives List in 2020 and 2016, and is also on the Board of Trustees for one of the top grammar schools in the country.

Jen Tippin

Jen is the Chief People and Transformation Officer at NatWest Group, a member of the Group Executive Committee responsible for HR, people strategy, group wide transformation, customer journeys, investment, property and supply chain. Jen co-sponsors ‘Rainbow', the group's LGBT+ employee led network, and Wellbeing groupwide. Prior to NatWest, Jen spent 15 years at Lloyds Banking Group, latterly as Group Director, People and Productivity and sat on the Group Executive Committee. Jen has broad and extensive Board experience: she is a Non-Executive Director on the boards of HMRC and Morgan Sindall (FTSE 250) where she also chairs their RemCo. She also sits on the board of the Financial Services Skills Commission and has previously sat on the boards of City, University of London, Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets and Kent Community NHS Foundation Trust. She is a Fellow of the CIPD and co-founded Stratos, a global development programme for senior women in Financial Services. Jen graduated from Oxford University and is mother to three children residing in Sevenoaks and London.

Louise Brown - Chairman

Louise Brown joined the City HR board in July 2019 and has over 15 years of Financial Services experience. She is currently Head of HR, UK at Canopius. Prior to joining Canopius she was Global HR Reward, Performance, Head of HR, BWOT at HSBC Bank plc. Louise is passionate about driving the future of works and digital agenda whilst being an advocate for keeping people at the heart of the HR journey. Louise enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 girls, cycling and taking part in outdoor activities.

Lucy Espinal-Rae

Lucy joined the City HR board in December 2021 and has over 15 years' experience in financial services. She started her career on the trading floor at BGC Partners, and is currently a Managing Director at UBS, heading the global divisional and regional reward teams. She works advising businesses with their reward strategies and processes, as well as with boards and regulators globally on remuneration topics. Lucy holds a degree in Economics from UCL. She grew up and has lived in several countries, and is a fluent Spanish and French speaker.

Meena Anand - CEO

Meena is an experienced Human Resources professional. She was latterly the Managing Director and Chief HR Officer for the 30,000 strong Global Business Services arm of Standard Charted Bank. In addition to being the CEO for the City HR Association, Meena serves as a Non-executive Director at both CNWL NHS Foundation Trust and Origin Housing. She is also a Trustee for the Community Schools, Multi Academy Trust and a Board Advisor for an HR publication based in Asia. Meena is on the Inspire List (Trustees Unlimited) and has been recognised as one of the 100 Women to watch to be a FTSE 350 NED by Cranfield in 2021. In addition to her Board work and CEO role, Meena recently founded The Careers Company a career development company focused on the career success of diverse employee groups.

Nick Hurley

Nick Hurley joined the City HR Board in June 2014. He has been a Partner at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP for over 10 years and in January 2017 became the Head of the Employment, Pensions and Immigration Group. Nick is a leading expert in employment law by both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. Nick is also on the Management Committee for Devonshire House Network. Nick spends most of his free time chasing his four young energetic boys around and coaches junior cricket and football. He is also a season ticket holder at the Emirates supporting Arsenal - time permitting!

Sam Bailey

Sam joined City HR in 2005 and has over 15 years' experience in HR related services. She is responsible for event co-ordination as well as member liaison and management of the City HR office. She is a busy mum to a 19 year old son. Sam loves singing and is a member of a North London choir, performing at gigs regularly, including at the Edinburgh Fringe. She is also a Blue Badge tourist guide.

Steve Woodhouse

Steve is the Senior People Partner for Marsh in the UK & Ireland, having returned to MMC in August 2019, after two years as Group HR Director for Hyperion Group. Prior to that, Steve spent 10 years with MMC in a number of different HR roles across Marsh & Guy Carpenter in both the UK & US. Steve's early career combined both Retail and Commercial banking across client facing, L&D and HR roles. Steve is responsible for aligning the region's People Strategy to its commercial drivers and the delivery capability of the unified HR operating model, with a particular focus within Culture Development - the driving force behind ensuring a fully inclusive and diverse business. Steve enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
