Alyssa McDougle

Alyssa graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in English Literature in 2016. While a California native, she has admired Oregon for many years and is so happy that she can now call it home. Before joining Pioneer Utility Resources in 2020, Alyssa worked in publishing for two years. She gained professional experience in marketing and database management and is constantly seeking to both apply her existing skillset and master new tools in her position at Pioneer. As an editorial assistant, she loves providing support to Pioneer's editors and team members in a variety of areas, from mailing operations to editorial research. In her free time, you can find her deep in a book, working on an independent magazine she founded with her friends, or exploring the beautiful forests and trails of Oregon.

Andy Johns

Andy Johns leads Pioneer's marketing team and one of the hosts of our StoryConnect podcast. An innovative storyteller recently named to Fiber Forward magazine's "Fiber Under 40" list of young leaders making contributions to the broadband industry, Andy has been featured as a presenter on various broadband and marketing topics at dozens of industry conferences around the United States. Andy got his storytelling start as an award-winning newspaper reporter. He studied communications at Berry College and earned his MBA with a marketing focus from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is certified in Marketing Automation and Wilderness First Aid, but usually only uses one of those certifications at work. Usually. He lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with his wife and son.

Anne Cook

Anne has a diverse background in broadcast and communication and serves the Pioneer family while remaining committed to the National Guard in Florida as a Broadcast Journalist. When she's not working, she enjoys writing non fiction and editing photos and videos while spending time with her furry friends, Paisley, the German Shepherd, Angel the Shih Tzu, and Charlie, a parrotlet. She resides in Jacksonville, Florida, where she can be close to her two grown daughters.

Anne Harvey

For more than 30 years Anne has been involved in strategic communication efforts at consumer-owned organizations. At Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives, Inc., the national brand of electric cooperatives, she was responsible for providing national network leadership to regional and local brand leaders and communicating the value of programs to nearly 700 member organizations. Prior to joining Touchstone Energy, Anne spent more than 20 years managing strategic communications and business development at the nation's largest electric cooperative, Pedernales Electric Cooperative, in Texas. She holds a bachelor's degree in communications (with a public relations emphasis) from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Ben Obeng

Ben joined Pioneer in 2022 as a Project Coordinator, then was promoted to Project Team Lead. Prior to that, he worked as an operations coordinator in the Mortgage industry and as a project coordinator in Transportation. He has a Bachelor's in project management, and masters in both International Business Management and Human Resource Analytics. In his spare time, Ben loves to read a good adventure genre. He also keeps a few blogs where he writes everything from fiction and poetry to business strategy and emerging technology. Whenever he gets the chance, Ben loves to travel, meet new people and experience diverse cultures

Brian Lazenby

Brian rejoins the Pioneer team as a marketing services writer after several years working in corporate communications in the insurance industry. Brian first joined Pioneer as a content manager in 2012. Prior to that, he spent 10 years writing for daily newspapers covering courts, business, county government and more. Brian has Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and history from Jacksonville State University. He also lived for a year in Scotland, but he now calls Chattanooga home. You may not know, Brian served as a combat communications specialist in the U.S. Air Force. In his spare time, you can find Brian somewhere in the outdoors, probably daydreaming about his passion: wild turkeys and turkey hunting.

Carrie Huckeby

Carrie Huckeby is executive director of the Tennessee Broadband Association, representing fifteen broadband providers serving 200,000+ broadband connections and 35% of the state's landmass. Carrie has over three decades of experience in the telecommunications and cooperative industry, beginning with a 23-year career at Ben Lomand Connect in McMinnville where she held various positions in marketing, sales, and competitive services. In 2010 she joined WK&T Telecommunications Cooperative, and the following year took the role of chief marketing officer for the cooperative's Telecom Management Services group. She was part of an executive team that managed what was then the largest grant/loan fiber network project in the nation. From 2018 to 2021 Carrie was director of strategy and training for Pioneer, helping broadband providers across the Southeast brand, train for and launch broadband projects into new areas. Carrie holds an Associate of Science, business administration and management from Motlow State Community College; a Bachelor of Science, business administration and management from Mid-Continent University; and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bethel University. She serves on McMinnville's industrial development board and five years ago launched the The Power of 100 Warren County volunteer group that has raised more than $225,000 that have benefited 17 nonprofit groups in Warren County, Tennessee.

Crissy Dean

Crystal Enkvist

A 20-year industry leader with an extensive background in cooperative leadership and communications, Crystal Enkvist is the Executive Director of the Alaska Power Association. Before assuming her current role at APA in 2014, Enkvist was the association's director of member and public relations for 14 years. She began her utility career as the public information officer at Anchorage Municipal Light & Power. She also currently serves as the executive vice president for ARECA Insurance Management. With her deep industry knowledge, Enkvist is active on several boards and committees, including for the Renewable Energy Alaska Project, National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation, the Alaska Center for Energy and Power Advisory Committee and the Government Relations Advisory Committee for the American Public Power Association.

Dave Barnhart

Dave has been supporting Utility Pioneers for more than a decade. Under his management, Efficiency Services Group has been able to install millions of energy-efficient products (LEDs, showerheads, power strips, exterior lighting, etc.) and perform tens of thousands of commercial and residential snapshot audits. With over 17 years of business management experience, you will often find him on his phone as he designs and coordinates the next commercial or residential program. Not only is David tenacious and loyal he is a sucker for gadgets and the next great challenge. While not at work David enjoys taking adventures with his wife and 4 children. He is actively involved in his community and does volunteer work for 3 to 4 different non-profit organizations. David enjoys playing music, jogging, and watching a good TV show.

Dave Lock

Dave Lock currently serves on the Pioneer Utilities Resources Board of Directors and seeks re-election. Dave Lock serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Grand Canyon State Electric Cooperative Association, based in Tempe, Arizona. Grand Canyon is the statewide organization that represents the interests of Arizona's rural electric co-ops before state and federal policy makers and the Arizona Corporation Commission. Grand Canyon also provides training, education, communications and other services to its members. Most of Dave's 40-year career has been spent working for or representing consumer-owned electric utilities. He served in city management capacities at three municipally owned utilities in Colorado, as executive director of the Colorado Association of Municipal Utilities and as a senior manager at Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association. He has been appointed to and chaired numerous professional, civic and charitable Boards of Directors and Commissions. Dave earned bachelor's degrees in Communications and Political Science from Hastings College and a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado. Dave and his wife Jennie have two daughters and two grandchildren.

Debbie Swanson

Debbie has been with Efficiency Services Group (ESG) since 2009. In that time, she has worked on just about every type of rebate that ESG offers. She leads the charge in monthly reporting for our utility partners. We estimate that Debbie has submitted over a thousand invoices to Bonneville Power Administration, so she really knows her stuff. She has an eye for detail and values a job well done. She enjoys scrapbooking and spending time with her family and 4 grandchildren.

Emily Vance

Emily joined Pioneer in February as the Proofing Desk Specialist. Her background encompasses print media design and communications. In her free time, she can be found either voraciously reading or immersed in a book art project, surrounded by her flock of cats, her favorite friends, and her dog, Salvador.

Jackie Enlow

Jackie Enlow graduated from Lee University with and bachelors degree in business administration. Her background in business sales, marketing and operations are strengths for the Pioneer family. Jackie has a heart for those underserved both locally and internationally. She spent a year as a missionary in Haiti, so she understands what it's like to not only go without internet, phone, and TV but also electricity. She feels blessed to play a role in reaching the rural population and is committed to meeting her clients' needs. She lives in Chattanooga, TN with her fur-baby Lulu.
