PROJECT

Our project, Centering in on Decentralization, aims to help people worldwide by constructing a relay for the Tor Network and by creating a brand new cryptocurrency that solves the problems of Bitcoin. This project includes both hardware and software components. The Tor relay will be a physical device, which will require soldering and 3D printing to complete. It will then have to be set up with Linux software, which will require some programming expertise. The cryptocurrency will be entirely assembled using code, and is a pretty big project to take on in the given time. In addition to the code that actually comprises the currency, we will be creating branding (a logo, name, etc) and a website for our new currency. We believe that this project will provide a service to others, and demonstrates moral awareness, by aiming to solve problems of global significance, which lines up excellently with the philosophy statement.
