Dr Alba Sanderson

Dr Alba Sanderson grew up in the small town of Breamlea, near Torquay, and went to school in Geelong. She then moved to Melbourne to study Medicine at Monash University, graduating in 2016 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, with Honours. She trained in the rural stream, travelling across Victoria and the country, studying in places like Mildura, Swan Hill, Bendigo, remote Northern Territory and Perth. After graduating, Alba returned to Geelong for internship and then moved to Warrnambool Hospital for 2 years. While in Warrnambool Alba practiced as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology registrar and is currently completing her Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics. She is keen to continue honing her skills in Women's Health, enjoys working with children, and continue to provide obstetric shared care. Alba has worked in Geelong as a GP for the last 3 years and is relocating with her husband and baby daughter to be close to family. Alba is a fully qualified GP and has a special interest in women's health, sexual health, family planning, LGBTQI+ medicine, and children's health. She is a trained IUD inserter.

Dr Ayotunde (Ayo) Awosolu

Dr Ayotunde (Ayo) Awosolu completed her Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery in 2009 and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography with honours in Canada in 2016. Ayo moved to the Goulburn Valley region in 2017 and has worked at Goulburn Valley Health in the Emergency Department, General medicine, General surgery, Oncology, Paediatrics and Rehabilitation. She has been working in General Practice in the Goulburn Valley region since 2021 and she is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She focuses on the complete wellbeing of individuals by encouraging and facilitating disease prevention and prompt execution of appropriate medical management. Ayo has special interest in: Dr Ayotunde Awosolu will be responsible for all conduct which is medical and non-medical in relation to these services, and Shepparton Women's Health Centre is acting as an agent and assisting Dr Awosolu in providing services to you as the patient.

Dr Cristina Tolentino

Dr Cristina Tolentino has been a GP in the Goulburn Valley region since 2011. She was the first female GP in Kyabram and is now solely based in Shepparton. She obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy at the University of the Philippines, Manila in 2001 and then her Doctor of Medicine at the prestigious University of Santo Tomas in 2006. To advance her skills further, she studied several courses at different public hospitals in Melbourne in 2008. Dr Tolentino worked as a resident medical officer at Goulburn Valley Health from 2009 to 2011 where she found her passion for women's health. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Her interests include women's health, particularly endometriosis, lifestyle management with diet and exercise, diabetes, and children's health.

Dr Margreet Stegeman

Dr Margreet Stegeman is a gynaecologist who is passionate about providing the most appropriate care to women, with detailed counselling of available treatment options, including conservative management, medication, and/or surgery. Born in the Netherlands, Margreet completed her medical degree at the University of Nijmegen. She began gynaecology training in Groningen in the Netherlands and concluded this at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne in 1999. She and her family loved their time in Australia so much, they were compelled to stay. After two years in Armidale, NSW, she moved to Shepparton in 2003. Since May 2012, she has been in full-time private practice.

Dr Olga Ilic

Dr Olga Ilic has worked as a general practitioner in Shepparton since 2006. Previously, she worked in North Queensland and the Northern Territory and trained at the University of Queensland, Brisbane. She completed her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2002, a Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health - Family Planning in 2003, and a Certificate in Travel Health in 2015. She has a special interest in women's health, sexual health, family planning, youth health, mental health, acute medicine, travel medicine and immunisation.

Dr Shiromali (Shiro) Ekanayake

Dr Shiromali (Shiro) Ekanayake has worked as a general practitioner in Shepparton since 2005. Shiro gained her Bachelor of Medicine in Sri Lanka in 1996 and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2011. Previously, Shiro worked at the National Health Services in Sri Lanka from 1996 - 2005. She then came to Australia in 2005 and worked at Goulburn Valley Health till 2009. Since then, she has worked in general practice. Shiro's special interests are women's health, mental health and mental well-being, preventive medicine for all walks of life and chronic disease management. She offers support to live a healthier, more active life and advice on how to take care of yourself. She is also interested in supporting teenagers with any difficulties they may encounter.

Kathy Cahill

Kathy Cahill has been a Registered Nurse since 1988. She completed her training at Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton. After travelling overseas for most of 1988, she returned to Shepparton and recommenced employment at Goulburn Valley Health. She completed the Critical Care Course and rotated between the Emergency Department and Intensive Care unit. She worked as an Associate Charge Nurse in the Intensive Care unit for 10 years. In 2001 she took up the position of Respiratory Nurse and Sleep Technician at Dr. Mark Harris' rooms in Nixon Street, Shepparton. Here the tasks were varied including pulmonary function testing, domiciliary oxygen assessments, sleep studies and CPAP trials. Client education, especially relating to chronic illness, was a significant part of this role. Kathy commenced working with Shepparton Women's Health Centre as a Practice Nurse on 12th February, 2020 on a part time basis. Some of her duties include: • Initiating and reviewing care plans. • Triage, client assessment and care planning. • Clinical patient care, e.g. wound care. • Explain procedures to patients, providing them with support and reassurance. • Assist doctors with procedures as required. • Health education and health promotion.

Mrs Fiona Wieland

Fiona Wieland is an experienced and passionate physiotherapist dedicated to helping adults achieve quality of life through improved continence, comfort and control. She has been local to the area since she graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne at the end of 2002 and had a special interest in women's health and pregnancy related physiotherapy since she was a student. She continued this interest with a Postgraduate Certificate from the University of Melbourne in 2006. She has continued this passion with further training in overactive bladder, anorectal disorders, prolapse assessment and management with pessary fitting, stress incontinence, pregnancy and post-natal issues, men's health and internal pelvic pain. Self-referral is encouraged and accepted, with Fiona working closely with your medical professionals to get the most desired outcome. When first attending Fiona's sessions, you will receive a one-hour comprehensive assessment including bladder and bowel function and a physical examination. You are then provided with an individualised management plan with recommendations to suit your needs. Fiona will accept DVA and Medicare care plans. Payment is via cash, cheque, or EFTPOS on the day. Private Health Insurance rebates are available for this physiotherapy service. Ms Alison Sinclair

Alison Sinclair is a General Psychologist registered with AHPRA and the Australian Psychological Society who works with clients 15 years and older. She has worked in Shepparton for 25 years providing counselling to adolescents, adults, couples and families. She has experience working with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, trauma, family violence, parenting, grief and loss. Alison uses evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness and Interpersonal Therapy to assist clients to achieve their goals. Alison understands that taking the step to attend counselling can be difficult and is committed to making each person feel comfortable and understood. Alison enjoys the opportunity to help clients gain insight about their thoughts and behaviour and will provide practical coping skills and strategies to use in everyday life. Nicole Brannigan

Nicole has been a Registered Nurse since 1992 after completing her training at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne. She then worked in Mackay, North Queensland for 2 years and following that spent several years travelling and working in the UK. She returned to Melbourne in 1997 and began Agency Nursing, working in a variety of health care systems before settling into Masada Private Hospital, East St Kilda working with a large Jewish population. In 2004 she returned to Shepparton to be closer to her family and began employment at the Shepparton Private Hospital working in medical, surgical, and high dependency; and at the Shepparton & Surgical Endoscopy Group, assisting Surgeons with minor procedures, wound management and post op care and education. Nicole has been employed at Rumbalara Medical Centre, Mooroopna, for the past 13 years working amongst the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community. She has developed a wonderful rapport within the Community and has performed a wide variety of tasks including triage and clinical assessments, pathology collection, wound care, Health Assessments and Care Plans, assisting GPs with minor procedures, and providing education and promoting health care. During the pandemic, Nicole completed her COVID vaccination training and developed skills in clinical consideration, administration, and storage of COVID vaccines policies and procedures. She has been involved in co-ordinating visiting Allied Health Specialists such as a Podiatrist and Dietitian in regard to referrals, appointments and follow up care and assists Rumbalara's visiting Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with procedures such as cervical screening, colposcopy, and contraceptive procedures. She has an interest in Women's Health and has a role in attending to recalls, promoting women's health and educating women in the community on the importance of mammograms and cervical screening. Nicole is currently completing her Cervical Screening Course through Sexual Health Victoria as well as her Immunisation Provider Course with the Benchmarque Group.
