A Certified Family Law Specialist is an attorney who has met the minimum requirements to become a certified specialist by the State Bar of California. These requirements include having been in practice for at least 5 years, passing a written examination, appearing for a contested hearing at least 20 times as lead counsel, and handling at least 5 hearings or trial of more than 3 hours in length. Some certified family law specialists are excellent, while others are not. An attorney may be a certified specialist, but if they shy away from a difficult fight, they may not be the best fit for your case... We have experienced trial attorneys.
