My passion is making people feel beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside. I started doing hair in 2005, where I graduated from Paul Mitchell School. Since then I have traveled all over for continuing education. Learning the latest hair trends from Las Vegas and New York City. I have been with Style Divita since we opened in 2008. We are like a family here and all work well as a team. We are always having advanced classes where we keep up with the latest colour and cuts. I am a mother of two wonderful children, Kia and Ella. I take pride in showing them you can exceed in a career that you love. I look forward to meeting you and using my skills to make you look and feel good. I am a Mommy of two sweet little boys, and a wife to a man who deserves the world. I'm very laid back and owe all my joy to the man upstairs. I'm silly and love to laugh. I became a hair stylist in 2011, and have been continuing education ever since. New York is my happy place, always bringing new trends to our island. The best part about being a stylist isn't the hair itself.. to me, it's more about how it adds positive feelings to someone's heart. I grew up working in Missions under my parents who have been pastors for 40 years. People are my passion. So for me, being a hair stylist is a win/win. I can touch someone's heart and work my art through hair at the same time. With over 18 successful years in the professional nail industry, Melissa started right here on the Outer Banks at The Sanderling Inn Spa. She then moved to Santa Cruz, CA. in 1999 where she continued to work in upscale salons and spas. She is passionate and meticulous about her work. Paying very close attention to detail while pampering her guests at the same time. She was voted Best Manicurist in the Santa Cruz Sentinel. Promoting strong, healthy, natural nails and foot makeovers has been her focus. She attends advanced classes, trade shows, and subscribes to various nail magazines to keep up with the latest techniques, products, and trends. Certified in Sanitation and Safety. She takes pride in keeping a clean and organized environment for her guests, providing them with a relaxing, worry-free experience. A few things Melissa enjoys is going on hikes, biking, the beach, watching sunrises and sunsets. Spending time with her family, friends, and two cats, Whiskey and Scarlet. Being back on the Outer Banks has made her very happy. She can't wait for you to try her famous foot massage which she has been told over and over, "That is the best foot massage I have ever had!"
