But since we've just met, let's just say I'm a mix of practitioner, scientist, coach, guide, trainer, hypnotherapist, mentor, learner and fellow traveller on the road... And back in my 20's, I was a perfectionist, workaholic, driven, Type A, control freak. I was a research scientist with something to prove. And as I climbed high on the corporate ladder, I built a tower of stress along with it. I didn't care. I thought I was invincible. Until, that is, the tower collapsed. With me underneath... Burnout hit. I woke up one morning with half my face feeling numb. Even half my tongue. And the numbness spread down my arms and legs in the week to come. I had tests galore. No doctor could help me. They said it was "just stress". I was shocked at how stress was affecting my body. And I hated myself for being so weak.
