Alexis Egozcue, a native of New Jersey, attended Admiral Farragut Academy for high school before pursuing her higher education at the University of South Florida. Eager to continue expanding her knowledge and skills, she embarked on a journey of professional development, acquiring numerous master certificates and completing various courses to enhance her expertise. Biography With a career spanning nine years at a previous company, Alexis forged meaningful connections, including meeting her husband. Presently, she is a devoted mother of two children and the proud owner of three dogs, two of which are Pitbulls and one a Chihuahua mix. Outside of her professional commitments and family life, Alexis finds joy in participating in running races, indulging in biographies and documentaries, and immersing herself in the tranquility of nature trails and the beach alongside her loved ones. Angie Hales

Angie Hales joined the Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson in 2023. She transitioned with more than twelve years of customer service, office administration, and accounting experience into her role as Paralegal. Her main responsibilities include providing support to all members of our legal team and many of our clients. This is most often in the form of drafting legal documents and maintaining communication with clients on the status of their case. Biography Angie is a graduate of Hillsborough Community College, with an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and a Real Estate Paralegal College Credit Certificate. Angie also earned a Legal Technology Certificate and an eDiscovery Certificate from the National Society for Legal Technology. She has been involved with the Tampa Bay Paralegal Association since 2022. She serves on the board of directors as First Vice President and is the TBPA representative for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee. She is also a Florida Notary Public who serves at the Hillsborough County Bar Association's quarterly Pro Bono event, Wills for Heroes. Angie resides in Brandon, FL with her husband and son. Most weekends you will find them doing projects at home, but on long weekends they enjoy RV camping at new locations within Florida.

Daniel Smith

Dan Smith joined the Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson as an associate attorney in January 2024. Before joining the firm, Dan spent many years working at a law firm that focused on obtaining VA benefits for veterans and their families. More recently, he worked for a law firm that focused on real property transactions and litigation and estate planning. Biography Dan graduated from Stetson University College of Law in 2008. At Stetson, he earned the highest grade in his Research and Writing class, and he was a member of the Law Review. He also spent a semester working as a judicial intern for a federal judge at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. After law school, Dan relocated to Washington DC, and served in a prestigious position as a law clerk to a federal judge at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Growing up, Dan had a passion for writing, and this led him to the University of Missouri where he obtained a Bachelor of Journalism. While at Missouri, he worked as a sportswriter and copy editor for a local newspaper. He is an accomplished runner, having completed numerous marathons. David Hines

David Hines is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the Marine Corps, David attended the University of South Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Political Science. Biography David went on to attend Stetson University College of Law. While attending Stetson University College of Law, David was a member of the Law Review, eventually becoming a Note and Comments Editor on the Law Review. During his time at Stetson, David had the opportunity to law clerk for both the Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson and Barnett, Kirkwood, Koche, Long & Foster. While at Stetson, David also interned with the District Court for the Middle District of Florida, for the Chambers of the Honorable Charlene Edwards Honeywell. David also participated in the Stetson University College of Law Veteran's Law Institute, where he assisted veterans with claims pending before the Department of Veteran's Affairs. David graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stetson University College of Law with a Juris Doctorate. After graduating law school, David went on to join Barnett, Kirkwood, Koche, Long & Foster in Tampa, FL as an associate attorney, where he practiced White Collar Criminal Defense at both the state and federal levels. David then joined Todd Foster Law Group as an associate attorney, where he continued to practice White Collar Criminal Defense. David is now an Associate Attorney at the Law Firm of Douglas G. Jackson, where he practices criminal defense and civil litigation, as well as other areas of law.

Stacey Bechtel

Case Manager Stacey is a Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) and has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2016. She began working as a Paralegal in 2013, initially specializing in all areas of Civil Litigation. Biography Stacey has been assisting Veterans with disability compensation claims for eight years. She is also the lead staff member for our Social Security disability clients. Stacey loves helping people and finds Administrative Law extremely rewarding because it changes people's lives. Before entering the legal profession, Stacey was a small business owner for 14 years. She brings the team strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Stacey was a Literacy Tutor for adults for many years. In addition, Stacey was a mentor and tutor for a young girl from elementary through middle school assisting with reading, spelling, and math from 2012-2015. She volunteers for several local organizations including Paint Your Heart Out Safety Harbor which paints homes for elderly people on fixed incomes. When she's not at work, Stacey is an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver.
