David Kodeski

David Kodeski became Assistant to the Vice Provost for Global Engagement when the office was established in March of 2017. A native of Niagara Falls, New York, David joined UIC in 2013 as Assistant to the Vice Provost for Planning and Programs. Prior to UIC, he worked for many years as associate producer for the nationally-syndicated television show, "Siskel & Ebert." An award-winning writer and performer, his work has been performed internationally and has also been adapted for National Public Radio's "This American Life" and "All Things Considered." Since 2012 he has volunteered for the Peterson Garden Project's "Grow to Give" program, growing organic produce for food banks on Chicago's north side. He holds a degree in Theater Arts from Davis & Elkins College, Elkins, West Virginia.

Dr. Juan José Cabrera-Lazarini

Dr. Juan José Cabrera-Lazarini is a Visiting Research Professor and Faculty Liaison from Tec de Monterrey, Mexico at the Department of Information and Decision Sciences, College of Business Administration, University of Illinois at Chicago. He served previously as Regional Dean, Department of International Business and Logistics, ITESM - Central Region. His primary research interest includes Supply Chain Management, International Trade and Multinational Enterprises, areas on which he has published several papers and coauthored one book entitled Economic Integration & Macroeconomic Effects of Brexit on Trade, Scholars Press, 2018.

Neal R. McCrillis

Neal R. McCrillis was named UIC's Vice Provost for Global Engagement effective March 1, 2017. Prior to joining UIC, he was the Mildred Miller Fort Foundation Eminent Scholar Chair of International Education, Executive Director of the Center for International Education, and Associate Professor of History at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. While at CSU Dr. McCrillis led their internationalization efforts, which were recognized by the NAFSA Association of International Educators with a Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization. Dr. McCrillis received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from UIC. He is a scholar of British and twentieth-century European history and the author of The British Conservative Party in the Age of Universal Suffrage (Ohio State University Press, 1998), along with numerous articles. His current research focuses on the British response to the United States during World War I.

Susan Falatko

Susan Falatko is a career Foreign Service Officer with over twenty-three years of experience with the U.S. Department of State. She is currently the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana, serving as Chargé d'Affaires for over a year. Ms. Falatko will be the next Diplomat in Residence for the Midwest region, recruiting talented individuals from diverse backgrounds for U.S. Department of State career and student program opportunities. Ms. Falatko previously served as the Director of the Office of South Central European Affairs at the U.S. Department of State from 2017 to 2019, focusing on the Western Balkans. Prior to that, she was DCM at the U.S. Embassy to Mauritius and Seychelles from 2013 to 2016.
