DR. CATHARINE COPASS

Dr. Catharine Copass is an ecologist with research interests that span multiple scales and disciplines. Her broad range of project experience includes climate change resiliency, modeling regional carbon dynamics, landcover change detection and mapping, forest management and policy, plant community classification and mapping, rare plant monitoring, and wilderness restoration. Catharine has worked as an ecologist for the National Park Service, coordinating a variety of vegetation inventory and monitoring projects across the PNW as well as leading the NPS regional landscape change monitoring program. She brings skills in research design, ecological statistics, vegetation classification, landcover mapping, GIS and remote sensing to the team.

ERICA SPONBERG

Jessica Mullin

Jessica Mullin is a Registered Consulting Arborist and ecologist who currently performs tree and habitat assessments, tree risk assessment qualifications, prepares shoreline management reports, and conducts environmental assessment and mitigation reports to support clients through the regulatory and planning process for project completion. She has a long background in native plant landscaping and four years of experience as a climbing arborist. Jessica has her Permaculture Design Certificate from the Urban Permaculture Institute in San Francisco and is a Certified Greywater Installer.

Jon Wilson supervises our utility inspection crews across the United States. He has inspected utility poles in Washington, Michigan, Idaho and Illinois. Formerly Jon located belowground utilities across Washington, Idaho and Montana. John leads a crew of 2-3 people each summer collecting mapping data and inspecting poles. Throughout the winter Jon helps our GIS team refine our utility mapping software.

JOSHUA CHENOWETH

Joshua Chenoweth has worked in vegetation management for over 20 years, including 17 years as a botanist for Olympic National Park. In 2007, he received his M.S. in Ecological Restoration from the University of Washington. For the next ten years, Joshua planned and implemented the largest reforestation project ever attempted by the National Park Service, the Elwha Revegetation Project, a critical component of Elwha Ecosystem Restoration after dam removal. He has a comprehensive understanding of forest ecology, invasive species management, plant propagation and installation, vegetation monitoring, mapping and adaptive management. Joshua has also authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications. Joshua earned his certificate in hazard tree identification with NPS in 2013, served as a board director for Society of Ecological Restoration Northwest, and is a member of the Technical Review Group for salmon restoration project on the Olympic Peninsula. He teaches vegetation data collection and analysis at Peninsula Community College and Western Washington University's Huxley College on the Peninsulas.
