This course builds on the WI course, offering students a more sophisticated way to think about writing, the nature of writing, "writerly" choices and goals, and how to effectively communicative for various purposes to a range of audiences. In order to equip students with such knowledge, the instructor will introduce students to multiple theories and/or perspectives about writing and the writing process and ask students to closely read, analyze and compose in a variety of genres with attention to purpose, audience, and the writing situation. The course will help students strengthen research skills that are appropriate for various kinds of writing across the disciplines and in the workplace. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about style as well as develop their own personal voice.
