In the past few years I have had the opportunity to work with companies that allowed me access to their system tables. I have used that access to create my own "bolt on" systems, using Microsoft Access. These tools aren't as sophisticated as what might be available from the big names but they get the job done - in most cases while the corporate IT department is working on their agendas, action items, to-do lists, and endless meetings... For more than thirty years I have worked in purchasing and inventory planning. I have worked with SAP, Oracle, J.D. Edwards, PeopleSoft, and a few others that aren't around any longer.
