Bram Kok

Job Titles:

Bram is a Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist and has a clinical focus working with pediatrics. He grew up in northern British Columbia on the Alaska Highway. He moved to Winnipeg upon graduating and routinely answers the question why he left British Columbia. He has experience with a diverse patient population including diabetics, ankle and knee arthritis, and sports related injuries. Bram is continually looking at ways to incorporate new technologies into clinical practice. One of his favorite aspects of his practice is finding unique solutions for the people he provides care for. Each person has a story and working together to address their needs Bram is an active member with the provincial and national prosthetic and orthotic associations. He is the Manitoba association representative for government relations. His primary goal is to support the creation of sustainable program that provides coverage to Manitobans, as he is acutely aware of how access to specialty care can be a barrier to getting better. He currently sits on the Program Advisory Committee for BCIT for the Prosthetics and Orthotics program. He has been invited to do several guest lectures at the University of Manitoba and George Brown College. Bram has also presented at the Canadian Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics National Convention. When he is not at work Bram can be found tending to his bees in the summer and enjoys reading and learning a wide variety of topics.

Cas Weston

Cas is a Certified Orthotist. He joined Winnipeg P&O to start his residency in July 2020. He grew up in a small southern Alberta town next to the beautiful Rocky Mountains. He has a wife and three beautiful children who he loves to spend time with. They enjoy the many biking trails in Winnipeg and go to parks as often as weather permits. He also enjoys playing golf, basketball, and softball. He studied his undergraduate degree of Health Promotion at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. During that time, he was geared to prepare for medical school, but something was telling him there was something else waiting for him. The next year, after a tragic accident which happened to his friend, he was drawn to the unique field of prosthetics and orthotics. Cas then pursued a degree in prosthetics and orthotics where he received great fulfillment and knew that this was the career for him. This pursuit brought him back to the US; to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas where he earned a master's degree in P&O in December 2019. Cas previously spent 2 years in South Africa and Swaziland where he served the people as a volunteer for his church, and currently volunteers in a youth group from the ages of 11-17. He has also volunteered at various prosthetic and orthotic organizations to help with special events. Cas attained his Canadian Certified Orthotist designation in 2022..

Danielle Drabot

Danielle is an administrative assistant and joined the WinPO Team in 2018 right after she completed the Medical Administration Assistant Course at MITT. Danielle is a caring individual who takes pride in her work and loves coming to the office every day. She is extremely hard working, organized and will not hesitate to go above and beyond for all the patient's she works with. Danielle also has a special place in her heart for the orthotic industry due to her own condition, anklosying spondylitis (inflammatory arthritis of the spine). She can relate to a lot of patients we see with a similar diagnosis and shows that you can still do anything you put your mind to. When Danielle's isn't working you can find her walking her dog Milo at the dog park. She enjoys camping and sitting around the bonfire with friends and family and practicing yoga.

Eric Kuhl

Eric is a Certified Prosthetist, who is originally from Montreal. He has been working at WinPO since 2003. During his P&O education at George Brown College Eric was fortunate enough to travel to Cambodia and experience how patients are cared for in a developing nation. This experience gave Eric the appreciation of how diverse this profession is on a whole and benefits of those who have access to newer/advanced technologies. Eric is passionate when working with patients with all levels of amputation and all levels of abilities. Eric emphasizes his focus on working towards patients' goals, be it being able to transfer from your bed to a chair and living independently, or for higher-level athletes wanting to run or climb and everyone in between. Eric has fit a number of patients with myo-electric upper extremity prosthetics and lower extremity microprocessor knees and feet that are available, as well as elevated vacuum systems. Eric continues to volunteer with provincial and national P&O committees/associations. Outside of work, Eric has stepped away from Ultimate, and his focus is now on coaching his daughter's sports. He still Curls in the winter, and enjoys getting outside as much as he can.

Garry Steadman

Garry is a Certified Orthotist who began his career at WinPO in 1991. Garry likes to tell the story on how he initially was introduced to the field of prosthetics and orthotics. A high school science fair project first got Garry hooked and he hasn't looked back since! Over the years, Garry has had the opportunity to treat a wide variety of conditions and enjoys tackling unique situations and developing innovative solutions. When not working Garry enjoys spending time with his family as well as camping and working on projects around his home.

Ivy Lam

Ivy is a Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist. Throughout her undergrad in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, Ivy wanted to become a physiotherapist. She changed her mind just before she graduated. In search for a different path, she had gotten a job as an office manager/ orthotic fitter at Hodgson Orthotics in Coquitlam, BC. Instantly she knew that P&O is a career that she is passionate about. She returned to school at George Brown College in 2010 for Orthotic / Prosthetic Technician Program and got accepted into the Clinical Methods in Prosthetics and Orthotics Program in 2011. Ivy's P&O career has taken her on a journey across Canada. She moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2013 for her prosthetic residency and had obtained her Certified Prosthetist designation in 2015. After certification, she returned to Toronto and worked at Sunnybrook Centre for Independent Living (SCIL) before she moved to Winnipeg. She had started with Winnipeg P&O in October 2017 to start her residency in Orthotics. Ivy attained her Certified Orthotist designation in 2021. In her spare time, Ivy likes to be outdoors. She has volunteered as a Scout leader since 2002, she has also joined local Scout Groups wherever she has lived. Hiking, camping, canoeing, and biking, with and without kids are fun for her either way. She also likes to cook Asian cuisines and travel around the world.

Janice Marinic

Janice is our Office and Accounts Manager. Janice has been working at WinPO in the Admin and office management side since 2001 and has worked in the healthcare field since 1995. Janice enjoys helping others and does whatever she can to support our team and our patients. Janice and her husband Peter have worked together and stayed married for 26+ years. Janice enjoys traveling, golfing, and caring for the youngest member of the WinPO Team -WINNIE.

Jim Harris

Jim is WinPO's Peer Support Specialist. In 2013, after struggling with a severely damaged foot and ankle Jim made a firm decision to have is leg amputated below the knee (trans-tibial) in May of that year. Prior to his injury Jim enjoyed an active lifestyle in such activities as hiking, running, and cycling. As the Peer Support Specialist for WinPO, Jim brings knowledge and understanding to patients adapting to the changes of limb loss helping them with their concerns, struggles and worries. He is here to answer your questions, help you with your concerns and provide a voice of support. Jim is not just here just for amputees; he is here to listen to those considering amputation and for those individuals living with an adaptive device. Jim comes to WinPO with a background in coaching, training, conflict management and mediation. As the owner of CJ Harris Coaching and Consulting Jim helps people empower themselves to become valued contributors in the workplace and in their personal life. As one of the founding members of the Amputee Coalition of Manitoba, co-founder of Manitoba Adaptive Leisure and Sport Jim hopes to unite the amputee community and those with adaptive devices by bringing awareness to the unique challenges of living with prosthetic and orthotic devices and to provide a voice for the community.

Marc Pépin

Marc is a Certified Prosthetist and graduated from the Clinical Program for Prosthetics and Orthotics, at George Brown College in 2003. Born in Northern Ontario, Marc has spent most of his career in Ottawa, Ontario. Marc has worked with a wide range of patients - from Paralympic-level athletes and military personnel, to small children and seniors. With this experience, Marc has had the opportunity to use the latest technologies and innovative techniques, for people with any level of amputation. He uses these successes to find creative solutions for his patients, helping them maintain active lives through all the transitions that life may bring. With a keen interest in biomechanics and anatomy from university, Marc has brought his passion for his profession to the larger prosthetics community as a volunteer. He has worked with the Ontario Provincial Association (OAPO), Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC) National Association and is currently on the OPC Professional Exam Committee. Outside of the office Marc enjoys live music, sporting events and being active in a variety of sports including golf, basketball and ultimate. While he is new to Winnipeg he is married to a Winnipegger and knows ALL about Winnipeg winters. He and his family are bravely up to the challenge and look forward to the fun activities Winnipeg has to offer.

Nicole Houde

Nicole is an administrative assistant and has been with the WinPO family since 2006 when she completed the Medical Administrative Assistant Course at MITT. For many years patients were always greeted by her warm and friendly smile upon entering the clinic. Her role today is now dealing with Insurance Claims and overseeing the daily functions of the front staff to insure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. On her off time you will find her at the cottage in Clear Lake spending time with family and friends. Nicole loves to spend as much time outside especially by the water whether it is kayaking, fishing, swimming or just soaking up the rays lying on the beach.

Rovin Ramirez

Rovin joined WinPO after completing his Network Administration program from Robertson College. Here, he works as Inventory Manager and Shipper/Receiver, and also helps out with network administration. Less than a year later, Rovin decided to come out of his comfort zone and challenge himself by taking on technical work. Now, he is working towards becoming an Orthotic Technician. During his down time, he enjoys playing video games, watching horror or thriller movies and cooking good food (which his wife loves the most)!

Sajjad Akhtar

Job Titles:

Sajjad is a Registered Orthotic Technician. Sajjad studied at PIPOS, the Pakistan Institute Prosthetic and Orthotic Sciences, between the years 1991 and 1995. Upon graduation, he was hired at the PIPOS treatment centre, where he worked as a Clinician and supervised students in the PIPOS program. Sajjad worked in that capacity for 10 years, until late in 2006, when he moved to Winnipeg to join the WinPO team.

Shayne Corpuz

Shayne is an Orthotic Technician Intern. She has always hoped that her work would involve muscles and bones one day. When she was in class for a Rehabilitation Assistant program, her class had taken a trip to WinPO. This is where Shayne first learned about the world of prosthetics and orthotics. She took an interest immediately and was amazed how the job was hands on and that everything was custom. After working a term at the Health Sciences Centre as a physiotherapist assistant, she took the initiative to change careers and is enjoying the new journey she has taken on. When Shayne is not at work, she likes to dance, thrift for vintage finds, enjoys eating out, and spending time with her friends and family.

Vera Situ

Vera is a Registered Orthotic Technician. Upon graduation Vera worked in Vancouver at Ortho-Dynamics for 1 year and then moved back home to Montreal to work at J. Slawner and then J.E. Hanger. In 2003 Vera moved to Winnipeg to work at Snider Orthotic Design prior to joining the WinPO team in 2010 as our lead Orthotic Technician. Vera enjoys taking on new challenges and takes extreme pride in her work. Her attention to detail is 2nd to none. When not working, Vera enjoys traveling and spending time in her chef's dream kitchen trying new recipes from her vast cookbook collection.
