COMMUNITYWISE - Key Persons
Byra joined CommunityWise in October 2021. Her educational background is in Economics. She has several years of work experience in international non-profit organizations in Mongolia and all her jobs were related to finance and administration. She works as a finance specialist for several Calgary community groups and is very happy to be involved in their work. She believes NGO's play an important role in building and strengthening communities, promoting social justice and supporting community development. She enjoys traveling, hiking and all kinds of sports.

Mark Akin joined in the part time position of Building and Member Service Support role last month. Mark will also be at the front desk most Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Mark is a people-oriented activist with a strong commitment to serving vulnerable groups. With his experience in managing, organizing and holding safe space for marginalized communities; Mark brings outstanding communication and cross-cultural team management skills.
Imole Lapite (Member Program Coordinator), she/her
Imole has experience in program and project planning and management, as well as is currently completing her Masters in Digital Marketing. She is joining Community Wise as a Member Programs Coordinator, to provide support to our members. She hopes to use her experience and knowledge to help Community Wise and its members in the work they do. Imole believes in art as one of the purest forms of self expression and engages in different types like crocheting, painting and singing in her spare time!
Philip McCutcheon is committed to supporting non-profit and grassroots organizations working towards inclusive and equitable social change. Thrilled be a part of CommunityWise since 2011 in a various roles and capacities. Philip brings a wide range of approaches, acknowledging the diverse needs and experiences of people working in or visiting the Centre as well as the accountability that goes along side this relating to the functioning of this unique landmark facility. Philip has a background in community development, facility management, and cooperative governance.
