PT Emdeki Utama Tbk (Company) is a company founded in 1981 by the founders of PT Metropolitan Development Group to produce calcium carbide (Calcium Carbide - CaC2) with the aim of import substitution which at that time came from South African countries, China, Poland and Taiwan with an average of 25,000 tons with an U $ 8.75 million dollar per year from 1984 to 1986... With a factory located on 14 hectares of land in Driyorejo Gresik, PT Emdeki Utama Tbk began its experimental production on November 10, 1987, followed by commercial production begins on February 1, 1988. In the next two years it has gained full community trust, so that Most of the carbide needs in Indonesia have been met by production from PT Emdeki Utama Tbk. Even some of the products have been exported to Japan, India, the United States and others.
