The General Insurance OmbudService is an independent dispute resolution service that provides free and impartial help for Canadian consumers of home, automobile and business insurance... The GIO sets an example for how the insurance industry should operate. After speaking to people from other companies that seemed like they were already checked out for the weekend, the CSO from the GIO called me right away, giving straight forward advice that allowed me to resolve my issue that very day.
