David S. Stewart

David S. Stewart is a patent agent at T-Rex Law, P.C. He originally started with T-Rex Law as a law clerk while still in law school, and since that time has assisted in many cases for the firm. David is a two-time winner of the CALI award for scoring the highest grades of his class in both Trademark Law and Patent Law. David was also a member of USD's National Team for Moot Court, where we won best oral argument at the Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Regional Tournament in Los Angeles. Prior to working at T-Rex law, David interned at the San Diego Office of the Public Defender, honing his advocacy skills and gaining valuable litigation experience. David received his Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law. He graduated in the top third of his class with a concentration in intellectual property and civil litigation. A Southern California native, outside of the office David enjoys surfing and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Emma Maggio

Emma Maggio is a third-year law student at the Dale E. Fowler School of Law at Chapman University. She is an active participant in several organizations such as the Chapman Women Lawyer Association, IP Law Society, and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society. Through these affiliations, Emma continually expands her knowledge, cultivates valuable connections, and gains insights into diverse areas of law. Emma is originally from Rochester, New York. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. Prior to working at T-Rex Law, Emma interned at IP.com which allowed her to develop a comprehensive understanding of intellectual property matters. In her free time, Emma loves skiing, surfing, and walking her dog, Otis. Hiep Bui

Hiep Bui is a third-year law student at the Dale. E. Fowler School of Law at Chapman University. He is an active participant in organizations such as the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and Orange County Asian American Bar Association, and an officer in organizations such as the Chapman Intellectual Property Law Society and Chapman Real Estate Society. Hiep has experience with drafting non-provisional patent applications for small inventors in the technical fields of e-commerce and garments, including the writing of the specification language and the drafting of said figures. Hiep received his Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he picked up his current hobbies of Scuba Diving and Hiking. In his free time, Hiep is a PADI Divemaster and has dived in numerous countries around the world such as Brazil, the Philippines, Cozumel, and much more. He has also hiked through the Andes Mountains over four days to reach Machu Picchu. She now uses that knowledge and passion to advocate for her clients. Sasha is originally from Boston and moved to San Diego when she was young. She attended University of the Pacific and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Upon graduation, she went on to receive her Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego with a specialization in Business Law and Intellectual Property. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law. Sasha was extremely active within the University of San Diego School of Law and served terms as both the Vice President and President of the Intellectual Property Law Association.
