Research in my lab involves multiple facets of plant evolution: Molecular Ecology, Comparative Transcriptomics, Population Genomics, Biological Invasions, and Systematics. Plant diversity in form and function are shaped by the underlying genome, distributional history, and environmental conditions. A better understanding of the interaction of these elements is a major interest shaping my current research. My lab has also been pursuing long term research in plant systematics, uncovering phylogeographic patterns, and new species to better understand how overall diversity is distributed over space and time. The research in my lab uses genomics, bioinformatics and field based techniques to investigate how historic and more recent geospatial, climatic, and biological processes play a role in plant evolution.
