NEWLIFE COUNSELING CENTER - Key Persons

Richard was raised in Columbus, GA. He achieved his B.A. in psychology from Auburn University where he had an athletic scholarship on the track team. He was awarded his M.S. in psychology from the University of South Alabama. For the next 15 years he owned Atwell's Finishing Carpentry Co. He became a Christian in November of 1983 and realized his clinically excellent education had some areas in opposition to God's Word. Richard was mentored and supervised by a Christian counselor, fulfilling requirements to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in 1994, closed his construction company, becoming a full-time counselor. In 1998 he founded NewLife Counseling Centers in Mobile, AL. Richard and his wife, Debbie, have two adult children. They attend Luke 4:18 Fellowship Church.
