Rescue 1 Colorado is a training company dedicated to the mental health education of First Responders. A study in 2017, conducted by the Ruderman Family Foundation, found that police officers and firefighters are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty. First Responders are reluctant to admit they need help regarding mental health issues, but they are also among the most common to experience events leading to such issues. This reluctance can not only negatively affect the First Responder, it can also negatively affect their agency, co-workers, and family.
