Andy Dickinson

Job Titles:
  • Head of Information Technology
Andy Dickinson joined SYPTE as the Head of Information Technology in August 2017. He is responsible for the provision of IT services across all sites, IT Services for Sheffield City Region Executive team and Mayor's Office and is the Senior Information Risk Officer (SIRO) for SYPTE. Andy's focus is providing a secure IT environment for our customer and business data and delivering on the digital agenda to provide the best customer experience. Prior to joining SYPTE Andy worked in both the public and private sector in IT service management, service transformation and commercial management roles.

Pat Beijer

Job Titles:
  • Director of Transport Operations
Pat Beijer joined SYPTE as Director of Transport Operations in May 2020. Taking up her role amid the coronavirus pandemic during the first national lockdown meant Pat immediately got to work tackling the issues facing public transport in the region because of COVID-19 restrictions. Pat played a major role in the design and delivery of a network of over 190 dedicated school services to ensure students could get back to school safely in autumn 2020 and has worked with government and operators to make sure that buses, trams and trains continue to run for people across the region throughout the pandemic. She will also be instrumental in work to secure the future development of the Supertram network and wider activity surrounding light rail in the region. Prior to joining SYPTE, Pat worked at Northern Rail for 17 years, during which time she was involved in a range of developments, such as the Leeds to Nottingham rail service, Pacer Replacement and introduction of electric trains between Liverpool and Manchester. This experience has given Pat an excellent understanding of the opportunities and challenges of delivering a public transport network that keeps people and commerce moving effectively. Originally from The Netherlands, Pat graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business/Managerial Economics and has since obtained an Executive Leadership Certificate from Leeds Beckett University.

Rachael Radford

  • HR Business Partner
Rachael Radford is SYPTE's HR Business Partner Manager. Our employees are one of our greatest assets, therefore Rachael is keen to ensure the HR Team is committed to recruiting top talent and provides all employees with a good experience at work. Responsibilities involve managing the organisation's benefits and recognition, training, performance management and employee relations in a way that retains our people long-term.

Stephen Edwards

Job Titles:
  • Executive Director
Stephen Edwards was appointed Executive Director of SYPTE in November 2015 where he is responsible for leading the development of the region's sustainable transport network. His remit oversees infrastructure and passenger service improvements across South Yorkshire to better connect people to places and to promote the use of public transport. Recently, this has included the introduction of Tram Train services, steering investment in the Supertram system, progressing Bus Partnerships across the four South Yorkshire Local Authorities and the refurbishment of Rotherham Interchange.

Steve Davenport

Job Titles:

  • Solicitor
Steve Davenport, Principal Solicitor and Secretary at SYPTE, joined the organisation in 2001. He is responsible for the provision of legal services, corporate governance, insurance procurement and Health and Safety. Steve is also responsible for the provision of legal services to the Sheffield City Region Combined Authority and Executive Team. Prior to joining the PTE Steve worked for several local authorities, including Doncaster and Bassetlaw.

Tim Taylor

Job Titles:
  • Director of Customer Services
Tim Taylor joined SYPTE as Director of Customer Services in March 2017. He has been instrumental in developing a refreshed Customer Services Strategy and a Retail and Information Strategy, both of which are vital to further improving the customer experience on public transport across South Yorkshire. His work also focuses on the wider needs and ambitions of the North, working closely with Transport for the North on their plans including providing key support to the Integrated and Smart ticketing programme. Tim's teams have responsibility for concessionary travel, ticketing, retail, marketing, communications, management information and delivery of our customer contact centre (Traveline). Before joining SYPTE Tim spent 17 years working for Working Links, a social purpose organisation providing life-changing support to the long term unemployed and rehabilitation services to ex-offenders. He was responsible for contract implementation of privatised probation services across Wales and the South West of England and led on the creation of a new contact centre service across seven sites able to support up to 20,000 ex-offenders at any one time.
