Our goal as museum educators is to allow each person who visits our museum to engage with things they find interesting in ways that are suited for them, and integrate those interactions into the exhibit's design and program's goals from the very beginning. Our goal is also to create museum experts, a subset of the broader concept of expert learners, who know how to get the most out of a museum visit. Museum literacy is a skill that is sometimes taught in schools through field trips to museums, but may be acquired outside of school or later in life on one's own... Our aim, then, is to build museum learning experiences that audiences can interact with regardless of their museum literacy-how well they understand common conventions in the flow of a museum, etiquette in interactive spaces as opposed to gallery-type spaces with fragile paintings...
