David Dodd

A passionate marketing and arts specialist with an eye for a great story, David leads the marketing and ticketing teams at Hall for Cornwall. Before moving to Cornwall in 2013, David operated in arts and culture for more than a decade in London, as Marketing Manager at the Barbican before founding a content and brand agency whose clients included Southbank Centre, National Gallery, Cheek By Jowl and LSO. Beyond the arts, he's delivered captivating campaigns for a range of public bodies, charities and iconic brands including The Guardian, Design Council, RBS, Hachette and Liberty Global. David joined Hall for Cornwall in 2022 from St Michaels Resort, whose marketing operation he guided through the pandemic, delivering major brand developments and record growth during a challenging period.

Donna Munday

Helen Tiplady

Helen leads the Get Creative team at Hall for Cornwall developing the outreach, education and youth theatre/dance programme strategies and overseeing core participatory partnerships such as the RSC Associate Schools Programme. She oversees the Associate Artist Scheme which supports and develops artists and companies and is Activity Plan Director for the National Lottery Heritage Fund project Revealing City Hall. Prior to her role at HfC, Helen has had a varied twenty year career in the Arts Sector, starting out as a performer then diversifying into choreography, teaching, producing, project management and business consultancy.

Julie Seyler - CFO

Before joining the HfC team Julie Caplin Grey (formerly Seyler) was Head of Culture at Cornwall Council, where she helped to significantly grow the creative and cultural sector Cornwall. She is an experienced & effective cultural leader who has operated at Chief Executive & Chair level with a proven track record in leading and managing organisations, teams and projects, that are committed to improving access to culture in Cornwall. A cultural sector advocate with an excellent reputation with artists, stakeholders, politicians and funders including Arts Council, National Lottery Heritage Fund & Creative England Julie has raised £60m for cultural projects in Cornwall over the last 20 years and helped to deliver several significant capital projects including Kresen Kernow. She is currently the chair of the Royal Institution of Cornwall, a Trustee or Porthcurno Telegraph Museum and the Advisory Group Chair of Golden Tree. She also Chairs the new Truro Cultural Compact partnership.

Julien Boast - CEO

Julien has been CEO & Creative Director since 2011. Before this, he has had a 20-year career as an arts leader in both subsidised and commercial theatre. From 2002-2010, he worked for the international company, the Ambassador Theatre Group, (ATG), initially as Chief Executive of the award-winning 200-year-old Theatre Royal Brighton. In 2009, he was additionally appointed Chief Executive of Churchill Theatre Bromley, the regional producing arm of ATG. He served as Chair of South East Dance; a Trustee of English Touring Theatre, Dance Touring Partnership and Blast Theory and was Co-founder and Vice-Chair of Brighton & Hove Arts Commission - a cultural and political arms-length advisory and delivery organisation where it delivered the highest engagement with the arts of a population outside on the capital city of London. He has also served as a council member for Arts Council England both for the South East and South West Offices. He was the first person to set up apprenticeships in theatre's technical areas for employees with disabilities for Arts Council England.

Lord John Hutton

John trained as a lawyer and taught at Northumbria University before becoming a Member of Parliament in 1992. He went on to hold various Ministerial roles, including Secretary of State for Business and Secretary of State for Defence. He retired from full time politics in 2010 and became a life peer. Since then he has held a number of Board positions in the charitable and private sectors. John lives in Cornwall.
