Yes, creative design thinking can be used to present information on a page, solve user interface issue, or design a logo... It can also be applied to design an entire brand system in which the logo lockup is a component of an entire system that follows through to every customer and staff touchpoint. Branding can range from the usual website, stationery and staff uniforms, to the way staff answer phones, the tone of voice used in internal and external communication, the vehicles staff drive, or the physical design of a shop. Every step is important in defining the user experience and lasting impression of the brand... The same design mindset can be applied to wider ranging issues, like how we can use better design to reduce waste and pollution. Because at the end of the day, all of the discarded packaging filling our landfills and oceans can essentially be boiled down to a design flaw. Often a cost, production, or demand driven flaw, but a design flaw nonetheless.
