With this new "Initiative," I hope to encourage traditional Wall Street, the sustainable investing community on Wall Street and beyond, the philanthropic community, and nuclear non-proliferation community to combine traditional tools of corporate finance with the concepts of concessionary and catalytic capital. We will all need these different types of capital, using novel financial frameworks and tools that expand on work already done in the worlds of conservation and climate finance, in order to solve the most vexing nuclear and other existential issues... The Cross Capital Initiative is focused on getting investors and the private sector more involved in reducing the threats of nuclear weapons.
