The Firefighter Safety Through Advanced Research (FSTAR) program is dedicated to advancing firefighter safety. We began in 2013 with the idea that research could improve all aspects of the fire service, including operations, health and wellness, and fire prevention... We believe that research has the power to positively impact firefighter safety, health and wellness, fire prevention efforts, training, and community safety efforts... We develop tools to help fire departments execute based on scientific research. We provide a single point of access to fire service research through a searchable database. We translate research into short, concise, readily applicable Featured Studies, Fact Sheets, Infographics and other tools.
