After working as a mining research scientist in Australia for all of her career, she lost the job she loved during the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. Re-inventing herself and her career led to being selected to train to conduct research onboard Suborbital Spacecraft in the United States, and creating strategic space industry workforce training and education.
