We are a thriving group of qualified Iyengar teachers running regular yoga classes, workshops and courses in numerous venues across the North East of England. Additionally, we organise special events, bringing highly experienced visiting teachers from the home of Iyengar Yoga in Pune, India, the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI)... The Association for Iyengar Yoga in the UK & Republic of Ireland IY(UK) is responsible for maintaining standards of teaching of Iyengar yoga, and undertakes regular assessments and certification of those wishing to teach from Introductory up to Senior levels. It also co-ordinates Professional Development days throughout the United Kingdom, to enable teachers to remain up to date and to help maintain the validity of their teaching certificates.
