Dylan N. Brown

Dylan N. Brown, PE, runs the Crested Butte office for Kramer and Brown. Dylan's professional experience began while working on diverse construction projects, ranging from building custom homes and schools to constructing chairlifts and bridges. Dylan's hands on experience, coupled with his intensive engineering background, gives him the ability to find the most efficient solutions to complex building challenges. Dylan strives for clear and prompt communication that starts in pre-design meetings and lasts until the completion of the project. Dylan received a BS in Civil Engineering for the University of Utah and went on to receive his Masters in Structural Engineering for the University of Utah. During Dylan's thesis research for his Masters he designed, built, tested, and evaluated earthquake resistant bridges and post-earthquake repair techniques. This research led to the publication of 4 peer-reviewed journal articles in highly regarded journals. Dylan lives with his wife Emily, and dog Teo, in Crested Butte. Outside of work Dylan enjoys skiing and biking with his wife and dog as well as paragliding around Crested Butte. Dylan is passionate about getting involved in the Crested Butte community and has volunteered at the community school with the high school SOAR project as well as the 5th grade earthquake engineering project.

Lynn E. Kramer

Lynn E. Kramer, PE, runs the Steamboat Springs office for Kramer and Brown. Lynn received a BS in Civil Engineering with honors from the University of Colorado in 1964 and a MS in Civil Engineering: Structural from Stanford University in 1965. Lynn was employed by three engineering firms in Denver from 1965 until 1972, at which time he joined his friend Gary Lykken in Steamboat Springs, CO. Together they formed the partnership of Lykken and Kramer in 1974. Lynn is married and has two adult daughters. He enjoys walking everywhere around town, hiking and cross-country skiing. He is an avid reader, mostly science fiction novels, and plays jazz piano. In the past Lynn has played piano with the Steamboat Swings Big Band and clarinet with the Steamboat Concert Band and Steamboat Symphony Orchestra. The partnership of Lykken and Kramer, Consulting Structural Engineers was established in 1974, by Gary Lykken and Lynn E. Kramer in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. In 1998 Lynn E. Kramer became sole proprietor, and operated solo until 2016 when Dylan N. Brown joined the Firm. In the Summer of 2017 Lykken and Kramer opened a second office in Crested Butte to serve the Gunnison Valley. In 2019 Kramer and Brown, Consulting Structural Engineers LLC was formed to continue the work of Lykken and Kramer.
