Raymond Chandler has been a professional theatrical manager and producer since 1972. From his stint as production stage manager at Radio City Music Hall in NYC, his appointment as managing director of the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton in 1999 to the present his experience has spanned the globe.
Raymond managed the first Canadian production of The Mikado in New York for its Broadway premiere and subsequent North American Tour followed by the National Tour of HMS Pinafore w/ Ron Moody.
He was part of the 1990 team that premiered the European Tour of West Side Story in East Berlin - the first Western musical to open in an Eastern-block country following the collapse of the Berlin Wall.
After touring with LIVENT'S Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat with Donny Osmond he joined the Walt Disney Theatrical Canada office in Toronto to manage the Canadian premiere of Beauty and the Beast followed by a request by Joe Shoctor to come out to the Citadel Theatre as the Managing Director.
Raymond subsequently managed the opening of 42 nd Street in Moscow with an all North American company, and four consecutive North American tours of Jesus Christ Superstar w/ Ted Neeley, Hot Shoe Shuffle, and Chun Yi: Legend of Kung Fu.
He is a founding partner of the Canadian live entertainment company Middle Kingdom Entertainment Corporation (middlekingdomentertainment.com). He is the founder of Raymond Chandler Productions specializing in international theatrical producing and general management services.
