MIROKUMAI

MirokuMai is produced in a naturally abundant treasure trove of wildlife and water resources in Uruguay, South America. Hideo Kambara started agricultural activities in 1974 in the Rocha department of Uruguay, a place far removed from Japan, yet similar in climate and topography. With the help of numerous researchers and farm workers he tested different types of seeds and production methods and finally established MirokuMai in 1996. The seeds used are from a type of "Akitakomachi" rice. Today 3'500 Tons of MirokuMai are produced annually and commercialised in Latin America, USA and Europe.
