Adjunct Professor Contact Information: jgeier1@providence.edu Education: PhD; Education Policy with a focus on the Sociology of Education University of Texas at Austin Dr. Jess Geier currently serves as the Director of Special Projects at New Heights Charter School, a 6-12 early college high school, where she is also a founding member. She is also an adjunct professor in Sociology and Women's and Gender Studies at Providence College and previously taught at Rhode Island College, Johnson and Wales, Boston College, and the University of Texas at Austin. Jess' research and teaching interests explore the intersection of access and equity via a feminist perspective. She is fond of saying, "You know everything about everything you know, and nothing about everything you don't know". Exploring multiple perspectives on issues such as race, class, and gender in a seminar-style course is her favorite place to be on a college campus. Biography: Jacqueline Kelley has worked in various legal and human resource professional capacities for the State of Rhode Island since 1992. She has been involved in collective bargaining negotiations for the State under several administrations, as well as having represented the State in court, arbitrations, and grievances. She has a BA in Social Psychology from Tufts University and a Law Degree from Boston University. She is on various boards, holding officer roles for Rhode Island Labor and Employment Relations Association, International Public Management Association, and American Public Human Services Association Attorney Affiliate and a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and Society for Human Resource Management, as well as having been a Lecturer at a variety of local and national conferences. In Jacqueline's spare time she travels, paints, knits/croquets/sews, works on home repair projects, kayaks/paddleboards, and is an avid hiker having climbed Mount Washington twice. Dr. Hibbard brings 40+ years of experience in education to our Teacher Certification Program (TCP). She taught K-12 special education in South Texas, New York, and North Carolina, and she lived and worked with young adults who have intellectual disabilities in a supported living group home. Dr. Hibbard completed her BS in Education at Lesley College (now Lesley University) and her M.Ed. at N. C. Central University. After completing her doctoral degree at UNC-Greensboro., Dr. Hibbard returned to New England in 2000 and taught at Framingham State University until 2015. After retiring for three months, she joined the Providence College family and became the TCP Coordinator. Dr. Hibbard also works with the Professional Pet Assisted Therapy certificate program in SCE.

Kirtley Fisher

Kirtley Fisher is the Associate Chief of Staff in the Office of the Commissioner at the Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (RIDE). She oversees special projects and the implementation of the agency's strategic plan. Previously, she worked as an Experience Design Leader at the nonprofit Business Innovation Factory, where she developed and tested human-centered solutions to pressing social issues in education and health care, including a design thinking program for educators. For ten years, she worked as a legislative aide for Congressman Jim Langevin (RI-02) and advised him on issues that included education, economic development, and children and families. She is also a Special Lecturer at Providence College's School of Continuing Education and teaches the Leadership and Diversity course. She received a B.A. in International Studies from Emory University and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, focusing on systems change and implementing innovative concepts. Kristin Cassarino is a passionate and energetic verteran Rhode Island educator. With more than ten years experience teaching Educational Psychology in the Teacher Certification Program at her alma mater, Providence College, Ms. Cassarino brings dynamic teaching strategies and a wealth of practical theory-based methodology to pre-service teachers. As an alumnus of the Teacher Certification Program herself, Kristin has a deep appreciation for the unique needs and challenges of her students. A first generation college graduate, she holds a Master's degree in modern European history from Providence College and a Bachelor's degree in European history from the University of Rhode Island where she graduated summa cum laude. Kristin currently serves as the Social Studies Department Coordinator and teaches 9th grade social studies at William M. Davies, Jr. Career & Technical High School. During her tenure, Mrs. Cassarino has served in many leadership capacities including Mentor Program Coordinator, curriculum designer, and state and local district professional development facilitator. Notably, Kristin Cassarino was selected as 2019-2020 District Teacher of the Year and was a finalist for 2020-2021 Rhode Island State Teacher of the Year. Born in Boston and raised in the city's West Roxbury section, Dr. Lescault was educated at Saint Theresa's School and Catholic Memorial before continuing his education at Providence College where he earned a B.A., two M.A.s, and a Ph.D.. His career in education has included serving as Headmaster of Saint Paul's in Harvard Square, a school connected to Harvard's Catholic chaplaincy and Saint Paul's Church. His teaching career at Providence began in 2006 and has included graduate level courses and courses through the School of Continuing Education. Dr. Lescault is the author of In Season and Out of Season and A Life of service. He is a lifelong musician, enjoying time at the piano and on guitar. She has served in the public sector for 15 years, notably as the first female Director of Administration and Deputy City Solicitor for the City of Providence. Professor McLaughlin has also held leadership position in both higher education institutions and independent schools while also teaching General Law at PC since 1999. Her personal interests include teaching both yoga and mindfulness in community and workplace settings.

Stacey Veroni is a dedicated public servant. She has been a criminal prosecutor for 27 years, working as a prosecutor for the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General, where she served as the Chief of the Criminal Division for over ten years before joining the Department of Justice in 2019. She has prosecuted sexual assault, murder, and white-collar crimes in her career. Assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault is her passion. Stacey has taught at Providence College for over ten years. She has volunteered her time judging mock trial competitions, mentoring high school students, and taught prosecutors from Mexico in trial advocacy. Susan F. Skawinski is a certified reading/ literacy specialist and a literacy teacher educator. She taught in the Elementary / Special Education Department at Providence College for 26 years where she was awarded the Joseph R. Accinno Teaching Award in 2013. William Longo

William Longo is the Director of the Music Technology and Production program at Providence College, where he also teaches courses in jazz studies, music theory, and composition. A versatile composer and arranger, Longo's works have been performed and recorded by notable jazz and popular artists, including Bruce Hornsby, Steve Miller, Jon Secada, Cyrille Aimée, and Nicole Henry. In 2014, Longo received the USAFB Sammy Nestico Award for his composition, New Day, which was premiered by The Airmen of Note, the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force. In addition to his work as a composer, Longo also works as a conductor, recording and mixing engineer, and producer.
