Carly Tyrrell

Job Titles:
  • Dental Nurse
Carly has worked with us in the Periodontal Suite since 2009 and subsequently qualified from Trinity College, Dublin with a Diploma in Dental Nursing in 2012. Carly is simply a fantastic dental nurse, calm, friendly and efficient and she will ensure your dental journey is a smooth one.

Catherine Mallon

Job Titles:
  • Dental Nurse
Catherine has worked with us since 2015. She qualified from Trinity College, Dublin with a Diploma in Dental Nursing. She has worked on and off as a dental nurse for many years. The energy and enthusiasm she brings to the practice as well as her caring nature and gift for the gab make her a wonderful dental nurse that patients always respond to.

David Naughton

Job Titles:
  • Specialist Periodontist
David Naughton BDent.Sc, Dip. PCD(RCSI), MFD(RCSI), D.Ch.Dent (Periodontology), FFD (Periodontology). David graduated as a dentist in Trinity College Dublin after which he spent several years working in general practice. He spent two further years in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery departments in the UK and Ireland. He undertook his full-time three-year specialist training in Periodontology and Implant dentistry in Trinity College Dublin graduating with a first-class honours Doctorate. He also completed the FFD Periodontology specialist examinations in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is currently in practice limited to Periodontics and Implant dentistry. David undertakes a full range of periodontal and implant procedures under local anaesthetic +/- sedation. Outside of periodontics, David is a keen runner and musician.

Dr Edward Cotter

Dr. Edward Cotter graduated from Trinity College, Dublin. He received his post-graduate training in Prosthodontics at the University of Iowa, and his Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Oncology training at MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, Texas. Dr. Cotter is in practice limited to Prosthodontics, Maxillofacial Prosthetics, Dental Oncology and Dental Sleep Medicine.

Dr Jason Owens

Job Titles:
  • Principal Dentist and Specialist Periodontist
I graduated as a dentist from Trinity College Dublin in 1993. After working in general dentistry for several years I decided to specialise and in 2002 graduated from the School of Dentistry, Indiana University with a Master's in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and the Henry M. Swenson award for Excellence and Scholarship in Periodontology.

Dr. Gabrielle O'Donoghue

Dr. Gabrielle O'Donoghue graduated with first class honours in Dentistry from Cork University Dental School. Following time working in Australia, she received her postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics through Trinity College Dublin. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 2022. Dr. O'Donoghue is in practice limited to fixed and removable prosthodontics, with a particular interest in digital dentistry. She also maintains a part-time teaching position at the Dublin Dental University Hospital, and is an active committee member of the Irish Dental Association.

Fiona Lawler

Fiona has worked as a dental nurse locally for both Jason and his father for many years. She qualified from Trinity College, Dublin with a Diploma in Dental Nursing. Her wealth of experience and knowledge is matched by her kind nature and her ability to put patients at ease.

Ilze Ozolina

Ilze is the newest member of the team, having joined us in 2022. Ilze is the first person you will talk to over the phone or in person. She has wonderful attention to detail yet is friendly and professional at all times. She strives to ensure your dental journey is as seamless as can be and will always do her best to accommodate your needs.

Lisa Pearson

Lisa qualified from Dublin Dental University & Hospital in 2003 with a Certificate in Dental Nursing and in 2007 she graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Lisa has over twenty years of dental experience. Her special interests are in the care of medically compromised paediatrics where she spent seven years working in the children's hospital in Crumlin and gained invaluable experience. Lisa is passionate about chronic periodontitis and continues to up-skill, keeping up-to-date with new advances in the field. A self-confessed science nerd, the more complex a case the better.

Louise O'Grady

Louise has worked in Irish dental practices for over the last twenty years both in specialist and general practice. She initially qualified with a Certificate in Dental nursing in 2003. Following that, Louise then went on to continue her studies in the Dublin Dental School & Hospital to complete a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2007. Her experience is second to none and she has a wonderful ability to put patients at ease. Louise's main passion is everything horses but she has also enjoyed competing and completing triathlons and marathons over the years.

Rebecca Campbell

Rebecca started her journey down the dental path over fifteen years ago. She completed a pre-dental nursing course and subsequently a dental nursing course at Trinity College, Dublin. ‘Beckie' has worked as a dental nurse in a variety of general and specialist practices. From there the natural progression was to complete her Diploma in Dental Hygiene in which she was awarded ‘Hygienist of the Year'. Her enthusiasm for patient care is boundless and her dedication to education both for herself and her patients is inspiring. She enjoys horse riding and Lottie her dog, and Beckie can usually be found rambling along the local waterways of her hometown.

Sonja Owens

  • Practice Manager
I joined the Periodontal Clinic in 2009 when my brother, Jason, asked me to cover maternity leave as a favour and here I am over ten years later. Prior to joining Jason I worked in a number of administrative roles. My job as practice manager is to support the team to be their best and to help patients in whatever way I can. Jason and I want our patients to have a positive experience from their first contact, so my priority is that everything runs smoothly. I live locally with my daughter and Rupert the dog and in my free time I like studying and the outdoors. I completed degrees in psychology and languages, and have a Master's in Psychology. When not stuck in the books I get out and about on the mountains or the water, hiking, snowboarding and sailing. My absolute wish to is to make your visit as comfortable and easy as possible and our team and I will assist you in any way we can.
