"Pelagos" is a greek word referring to the open sea. It is the root of the modern word "pelagic", which refers to a specific level of the ocean and is often used to describe a certain type of fish. Pelagic fish include tuna, swordfish and mako sharks, fish that are known for being strong, fast swimming, predatory fish. These fish battle some of the harshest conditions to survive a life in the open sea. Our products share several defining qualities with the mighty fish of the deep; strength, endurability, and beauty... Pelagos was founded in 2019 by Bryn Russell and Blake Dieterlen, who both have a deep passion for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing products. This combined with their appreciation for the outdoors lead them to create custom tools that could be used in their daily lives as well as on their adventures.
