Alexis McGill Johnson named permanent Planned Parenthood President | Planned Parenthood Video Alexis McGill Johnson named permanent Planned Parenthood President | Planned Parenthood Video Alexis McGill Johnson is the president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Planned Parenthood provides vital health services to 2.4 million people each year through more than 600 health centers across the country. Their vision is a world of equity: where sexual and reproductive rights are basic human rights; where access to health care doesn't depend on who you are or where you live; and where every person has the opportunity to choose their own path to a healthy and meaningful life. Alexis is a champion for social and racial justice, a respected political and cultural organizer, and a tireless advocate for reproductive freedom. She has been in Planned Parenthood's leadership for more than a decade as PPFA board chair, Planned Parenthood Federal PAC chair, and a Planned Parenthood Action Fund board member. A researcher by training, Alexis co-founded and co-directed the Perception Institute, a consortium of researchers, advocates, and strategists who translate cutting-edge mind science research on race, gender, ethnic, and other identities into solutions that reduce bias and discrimination, and drive equity and belonging. She is also a thought leader on brain science and narrative change and has written extensively on equity, race, and culture. She is a frequent commentator in the press and keynote speaker, and currently serves on the boards of Color of Change, Leadership Conference for Civil and Human Rights, and is a founder of the Culture Group. She holds degrees from Princeton and Yale Universities and has taught political science at both Yale and Wesleyan Universities. She is the proud mom of two daughters.

Prior to working for PPFA, Danni worked in Human Resources in the pharmaceutical sector and financial services for over a decade, respectively and later in the cosmetics industry, and in international development.

Dawn Laguens, who has previously served as PPFA executive vice president and chief brand officer, is the interim executive director of Planned Parenthood Global and senior advisor to president and CEO Alexis McGill Johnson. Dawn brings a wealth of expertise to Planned Parenthood Global, including strategy development, results driven management, board governance, and resource mobilization. For more than a decade, Dawn has been strengthening the connections between the domestic and global movements. In her prior role as PPFA executive vice president and chief brand officer, Dawn represented PPFA and Planned Parenthood Global at Women Deliver conferences and participated in global consultations to counter the worldwide sexual and reproductive health and rights opposition. Under her leadership in that role, PPFA leveraged its influence to advocate that the Obama administration prioritize sexual and reproductive health and rights in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and worked with champions in Congress to expand abortion access for Peace Corps volunteers, as well as to protect international family planning funding amidst deep Congressional opposition. Dawn is also a co-founder of the Billion Girls CoLab in Nairobi, Kenya, a girl-led sexual health and rights research and development lab in partnership with global innovation firm IDEO.

Dr. Kulleni Gebreyes - Chairman

Dr. Kulleni Gebreyes has over 20 years of health care industry experience across both the private and public sector. She serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors. Dr. Kulleni Gebreyes has over 20 years of health care industry experience across both the private and public sector. With consumer-focused models that are data driven and financially sustainable she transforms care delivery for numerous health care organizations. Kulleni has also developed strategies for population health management and value-based care that address payment reform, physician alignment, and patient activation. In partnership with providers, payers, and employers, she has successfully developed and implemented clinical analytics tools and applications that reduce operating costs and promote appropriate utilization of resources. Kulleni was trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital System and is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Six Sigma Green Belt. She holds an MD from Harvard Medical School, a BA in Biology from Princeton University and an MBA from Carey Business School of Johns Hopkins. She has served as a faculty member in medical education and residency training at Georgetown University Medical Center and George Washington University Hospital. Kulleni has also been an active advocate for vulnerable communities through her work with the State of Maryland and District of Columbia. She is a recognized speaker at regional and national conferences.

Dr. Sara C. Flowers

Dr. Sara C. Flowers became Vice President of Education at PPFA in 2018. An advocate for evidence-informed practice and emotional intelligence in sex education, Sara's research focuses on fidelity and adaptation of sex education curricula, dismantling sexual and reproductive health disparities, serving youth of color, and strengthening abortion access. In this role, Sara sets the vision, priorities, and strategy for sex education and training at Planned Parenthood. She is the spokesperson for sex education, providing contextualization and grounding for the nuanced ways sex education works to support and progress our federation's vision and mission. Sara holds a Doctorate in Public Health from The Graduate School and University Center, CUNY, as well as a BA in Psychology and a Master of Public Health degree, both from The George Washington University.

George is a professional inclusion leader and executive coach with a balanced background of diversity, equity and inclusion experience combined with closely related functions of advocacy, leadership development, and partnership cultivation. George served as the Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. George received his Masters of Divinity from The Divinity School at Duke University and his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College. Jacqueline Ayers is PPFA's Senior Vice President of Policy, Organizing, and Campaigns. She is responsible for the strategic direction of the federation's legislative affairs, global advocacy, and federal and state policy teams, in order to expand laws and policies that increase access to health care for all. Prior to joining PPFA for the second time in her career in 2013, she served as legislative director for the National Urban League, was a legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives covering health, education and judiciary issues. She began her career as the associate legislative director for the ACLU of Indiana. She is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis, Indiana and licensed to practice law in the state of Indiana. In 2016, Jacqueline also completed the first cohort of the Rockwood Fellowship for Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice.

Jethro O. Miller is Chief Development Officer (CDO) for Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund. He is responsible for overseeing PPFA's philanthropic fundraising program, including gifts from individual donors, family and institutional foundations. Prior to joining Planned Parenthood in May 2014, he spent six years at the American Red Cross, serving as vice president for principal and major gifts, where he successfully built the principal and major gift programs while leveraging the engagement of the organization's leadership, national Board of Governors and chapter boards. Before joining the American Red Cross, he served as the director of development for Children's Rights, a national advocacy group working to reform America's child welfare systems, and assistant vice president of the fundraising consulting firm Community Counseling Service (CCS). He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a master's degree from The University of Chicago.
